     “Break time!”

     An exasperated sigh dropped Adeleine to the ground, bookbag slipping quick off her back. She and Ribbon had been walking and flying respectively for a while now, traveling through the planet's prettiest sights. So a camping sight on the mountain's sunsetting peak was the perfect way to end the day. 

     From her bag, a blanket was laid out, snacks set up and large tent painted, laid down with a light hanging from the inside. It was time to relax with Ribbon after exploring the day away with her.

     “This is a nice place to park, isn’t it? I can’t think of a better setting! I’d draw it all if I wasn’t so tired.” Cue an overdramatic flop to her back, beret falling off and everything. If the giggles meant anything, it was pretty clear that she was having fun.

     “Kirby!!” 

     Oh man, it was always the best to see her friend Kirby! Adeleine wasted no time in giving the puff a hug, nuzzling into him before giving a pat to his head. “Want something painted, buddy? Coming right up!”

     With a swirl of color here, a dash of life there, the artist went to work! And right off the bat, it was clear what she was drawing. It was a beautiful Strawberry Shortcake, topped with the name of the delicacy and multiple more laced within the soft body of it all. Luscious whipped cream piled on for maximum fluffy deliciousness! It was great! Except it wasn't a simple slice. Oh no. It was an entire cake!

     A finishing touch of a place circled underneath, slapping the cake off the easel and handing it off to Kirby. “It's the least I could do. Enjoy! ...Wait.”

     Sights returned to the easel, painting a fork and knife before sending them off to Kirby. “Wouldn’t want to get your hands dirty, would you?”

     Don’t ask how she'd gotten in, when she'd gotten in, or why she'd come in in the first place. Because she probably didn't remember either, thanks to every bit of her brain being honed in on this card game she'd been playing on the floor of Dedede's castle with three other Waddle Dees. If the silence was anything, it was pretty serious. 

     Though all serious signs faded when eyes caught sight of the king himself, immediately waving hello. “Hiya, Dedede! How's it- oop!” At the wave, three sets of Waddle Dee eyes shot to get a cheating glance at her cards, earning their own glare from Isabelle. And of course, they all turned heads, acting as nonsuspicious as possible. You could practically see the halos. Before a more sheepish smile returned for the king. “Ah, hope you don't mind us playing a little game. I can deal you in if you'd like! The more the merrier!”
