“I gotta say, I’m a bit conflicted about that match, Stebbins.” He walked right in step with Theo, not even noticing that he hadn’t announced his presence, butting in with his opinion. Quidditch had become something of a passion for Davey since the moment he learned about it, during the first match he ever witnessed at Hogwarts. Muggle sports barely held his attention but Quidditch was something else entirely. “I think you lot should’ve won and that’s a fact. But I gotta ask, was the fight with Alecto worth the penalty? To me, it definitely looked like it.” He was teasing, of course, but with some truth behind it. There’s a fundamental fact that when two girls fight, it’s attractive.

“That was... rough,” Brie said, a hiss of air leaving her mouth. It felt so bittersweet, so close to a win and yet not quite pulling through and on top of that the injuries. Marlene falling from her broom. At one point, Brie had been worried Theo was going to, as well. “Are you okay? Carrow didn’t hurt you did she?” Concern was written on her face. So much had happened in that game that she almost didn’t know where to start with her worries and part of her just wanted to curl up on the bench and have a nap.

This was so unlike her. So unlike Dorcas to be in the library and finding it hard to concentrate. The library was supposed to be a good place, a place where she could immerse herself into books and work on her essays. But the whispers around the castle weren’t reserved for the dorms, the corridors or the classrooms. No, they penetrated the safe space of the library and it was getting on Dorcas’ last nerve. There was no doubt in her mind that the boys from Gryffindor were being framed but she couldn’t fight everyone on their behalf. Dorcas looked up, noticing Theo, making her way over to the girl with a slight smile on her face. “Okay, how about you and I get the hell out of here, yeah? I think everyone’s being too noisy gossiping like hens.” She spoke loud enough so the group of girls a couple of tables overheard her perfectly, earning a lot of dirty looks her way but Dorcas shrugged them off.

Where: 6th year Gryffindor girls dorm Who: Brie && @stabbystebbins​

She woke to a cat jumping on her stomach. This was not an uncommon occurrence, but didn’t mean that Brie could just roll over and go back to sleep even if it was the weekend. She shifted so that she could watch the two cats who had decided that her bed was the perfect place to play that morning, for now content to stay in bed and not move until Cappuccino decided she was hungry. At least, she was until one of the cats batted at the other in what was probably just a playful gesture but which led to the two of them scrambling a little too close to the edge of the bed, both meowing loudly in objection.

“You’re both idiots,” she told them. “I love you, but seriously.” She scooped Theo’s cat up and went over to the other girl’s bed, pushing through the curtains without announcing herself. If being the second youngest of five siblings hadn’t been enough to dispel her sense of boundaries, living in dormitories certainly had. She plopped herself on the edge of the bed and let the cat jump out of her arms, onto Theo. “I was thinking when I woke up in the night. Who do you reckon is looking after Filch’s kitten?”

“Huh, this is interesting,” the words were out of her mouth quick, almost loud enough for someone else to hear but the corridor only contained the two of them. “A lone Theo Stebbins. What are the chances?” Dorcas had been pretty much avoiding most people these days, only really coming across someone by chance so it seemed high and likely that she would do the same with Theo. “You wouldn’t happen to be heading towards the Quidditch Pitch and wouldn’t mind some company?” Truthfully, even if Theo didn’t want to go, the idea stuck with Dorcas as a good idea. Something to take her mind off of everything because being on a broom, with the wind in her face and hair and loud against her ears; there is nothing like it. Truly freeing.
