Gold & Glitter Stacked Club Heels for Belize. Enjoy!
Hi - I need shopping assistance. A few months ago I spotted a woman in peep-toe black pumps with a cone-shaped heel. I never would have considered a cone heel but these were so elegant. The heel really gave her legs a beautiful "line." Or something. Anyway, I've been looking in vain for a similar pair. No luck, other than a $700 pair I found in Tokyo, which was waaaay out of the budget. Help! Peep-toe is fine but not necessary. Mostly interested in the heel. Thanks!
Hello anonymous,
So, I believe the type of heel you're talking about is called a "stacked heel" --but part of the issue in searching for them is that retailers call a lot of things "stacked heels" (everything from what I consider a traditional high heel stilettos to those thicker square heels), but in my book the traditional stacked heel is the cone shape I think you're talking about. Of course, I could be wrong. Since you didn't mention a price range (other than under $700) or a size I'm shooting a little blind here, but I'll give you a few options. If these aren't on point, tell me which are closest and we can refine from there!
I like these Steve Maddens, which come in suede (seasonally appropriate) and a cheetah print (fun!) and won't break the bank too much. I've never owned a pair of his shoes personally, so can't comment on quality or comfort.
These Calvin Kleins, which come in a nice patent, also have a good cone shape and the height is reasonable -- the almond toe means they are also conservative for most any work environment. These Fitzwells are similar to the Calvins, but higher if that's what you're looking for.
As for the peep-toes request, I found a few that might work. These Style&Co shoes from Macys fit the requirements, but I don't know much about their quality and the size of the opening for the peep-toe worries me (would you slide out too much?) And then there are these Sofft Ramona shoes, but I don't know, they're isn't too much about them that wildly excites me (you know.)
These Tory Burches and Stuart Weitzmans aren't quite the conical shape you're looking for, but I think they'd give the same effect.
On the insane side of the coin, the Alice & Olivia shoes are certainly conical...but also insane. And if you can walk in these Dolce Vitas you're a better woman than I (but they also come in hot pink, so there's that). Speaking of being a better woman than I, these Calvin Kleins would also qualify you as such.
Okay, that's a lot of shoes to throw at you all at once. Write back if I haven't understood what you meant by cone shaped and I'll try again! Have fun shoe shopping!
EDIT: BTW, if you happen to be a size 6, let me know -- there were a couple of cute pairs only available in size 6. Oh well.
