Woman recalls Bryant grabbing at her private parts A St James man is on trial before the High Court on an indecent assault charge. Madam Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell and a nine-member jury on Wednesday began hearing evidence in the case against Korey Jason Omar Bryant. The female complainant, who was a teenager when the incident allegedly occurred on December 18, 2013, gave her evidence along with several other witnesses appearing for the state. Principal Crown Counsel Krystal Delaney and Crown Counsel Kevin Forde are prosecuting the matter. The No. 4 Supreme Court heard from the complainant that she, her sister and a male friend got a ride from the accused who was driving a motor car on that day. She said her sister sat in the front passenger seat, while she was in the middle in the back seat, with the male friend sitting next to her and some items on the seat. The complainant explained that Bryant, who she knew from seeing him in the neighbourhood for some five years before the incident, made a stop along the way for her sister to collect something. It was at that time, she said, that the accused turned to his left and “grabbed at my vagina and asked me ‘what is all of that?’” She told the court that she pushed away his hand but he grabbed at her a second time. She subsequently told her mother and sister what had happened and the matter was reported to the Holetown Police Station. The woman was adamant that she had never had a conversation with the accused prior to the incident and none since then. She further maintained that she had not given him permission to touch her and she was “angry” when he did. Under cross examination by Bryant’s attorneys Shadia Simpson and Faith Greaves- Agard, the complainant was also adamant that the accused was not reaching for papers that were in the backseat to move them at the time.
