This is Dr. Jason Key
He's a single father and works as head/lead engineer of one of three robotics labs in some Institute (that I haven't named yet). He specialises in designing prosthetics.
Backstory: After the pandemic he fell ill and was prognosed to have 2 years of life left. So, because he wanted to live (and support his son, who was going to university), with help from other scientists at the Institute, Jason designed a life support system that would hopefully work while fighting his declining health.
(I spent an hour thinking how to phrase it and gave up) So yeah, he's now remotely controlling an android body and copes with body dysmorphia that comes from it (and he did get a bit better after his face was recreated).
As for his personality, he's just this really sweet, if a little awkward person (he could only afford all of the equipment needed for his life support because he's so well-liked in the Institute).
Notes on his design: Dr. Sawyer from Poppy Playtime was the initial inspiration (brain in a jar and remotely controlled androids, also the doctor part), then more details were from a sci-fi novel I've read as a kid (Felix, Net & Nika - specifically book 4). With the first android sketches I tried to keep shape of a human while thinking how in practice he should be waterproof with as little exposed machinery as possible, and how joints would work (pulled that in part from Stray). Lastly, Jason's haircut and face were more or less based on Mads Mikkelsen.
He's somehow one of the least traumatised ocs I made who isn't a background character. Do what you will with that knowledge.
