I’ve been thinking about how to adapt the Foreigner series for TV for ages, and I can’t think of a way… It has amazing potential, but some of its main perks seem not translatable - literally, since it’s about language and the way it forms thinking.
hm well i don't have an answer obv i haven't read it. adaptation is a tricky business, tbh, it is so easy to go wrong. But i think some interesting advise would be to simply understand what's important about the story and not be afraid to change things. i know a lot of people get really irritated if an adaptation isn't 'faithful' to the original but what i think what that sentiment is really getting at is how some adaptations change things so liberally that it eliminates what's truly important about the characters and the story. you can definitely change things, lines, etc without compromising the essence of the story; i think it just takes some thinking and effort

Happy you tried! :) Foreigner is the first, and while it has a white male protagonist, it has an awesome cast of aliens and the human /is/ the alien. There are two long backstory chapters at the very beginning that you can skip. Still her best series
looking it up now and the ones that were in the shop i think were 'peacemaker' and 'protector' which are the last ones i think. Mostly i was asking for recs bc i have to find something i want to adapt into a screenplay for one of my classes but later on i might come back to it!
