The Tumblr mobile update is absolutely awful. Like, the worst one yet.
I get that iPhones are popular for a lot of (begrudgingly) valid reasons, but it’s almost universally agreed upon in the UX/UI world that bottom navigation that uses more than 3-4 buttons for functions (and not those that lead to a specific feature of an app or piece of software, only those which utilize fundamental interaction function, such as Android’s “back” arrow, home button, and window manager button) is absolutely fucking awful. Especially when that navigation sits right on top of other navigation. It’s a common problem within iOS and now it’s here. That Android feature I just mentioned that works well? At the bottom of every Android phone. This new update puts all the Tumblr functions right on top of that. Holy shit. Annoying.
