The big to-do, the Stage 773 Social, is coming up on this Saturday, 11-11! It's going to be a great night of comedy to celebrate our little theatre space, an institution in Chicago. We're celebrating 40 years of this building being used as a community theatre space. Be sure to grab tickets. Plus there will be an exciting raffle and no need to be present to win. Today is Giving Tuesday, a chance to give to nonprofit organizations after the rush of Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I’d like to suggest Stage 773 for your support if you are able. Stage 773 is a vibrant member of Chicago’s off-loop theater community producing new works, incubating other professional companies, and hosting festivals during the year. I'm at a Starkid show and I'm slightly freaking the fuck out. Traveled over 1000 miles to see this and managed to fall in love with Chicago while I was at it. I'm so incredibly happy right now.

Recalling the glory days of burlesque, the 6th annual Windy City Burlesque Festival began on a rainy Wednesday night at Stage 773 in Lakeview, featuring performers from all over the U.S. Hosted by Chicago burlesque performer and teacher Red Hot Annie, audiences were treated to an enthusiastically sex-positive, body-positive, and age-positive experience. In a gesture of defiance against the male gaze, Dancers of all shapes, sizes, and ages took to the stage in a proudly feminist celebration of all bodies and expressions.
