“Ne, Maya.” It was rare enough for her to actually be in Maya’s room, and, now that she was, she had questions. “Why the bird decorations?” They looked like pieces she’d ordered out of a gardening catalogue.

“Woah, woah, wait! Dancing and sword fighting?! What the heck?! That’s so cool! How’d you get into that?!” Mina had been interested in dancing since she was very young. It started with ballet but had grown to a fascination with most every form of dance. So she loved hearing about others dancing and their own forms of dancing. Yet she’d never heard of someone that had combined dancing with sword fighting. It sounded so cool to her! It made her think of a fantasy kind of performer, like something she’d read about in books or see on TV.

🌠 - “S-sorry! Was I...was I staring too much?” she practically looked like a startled rabbit when the other stage girl looked her way, hands frozen mid-gesture as their eyes met. Was she expected to say something? Why was she looking at her like that...? She didn’t recognize her, did she? No...that was impossible....
“I-it’s just....your brilliance on stage....it reminded me of the first time I saw Tamao-senpai preform...”

Her baumkuchen offering appeared to be a success; Maya didn’t look upset or disgruntled or hurt or any other emotion that didn’t belong on her face. If anything, she looked... confused or embarrassed, and Claudine glanced away. Really, just what was that expression for? It’s not like she’d gone out of her way to get the baumkuchen. And Maya had gone to a practice session while running a fever before. Her concern was perfectly reasonable.
As it was, Claudine hadn’t even rejected the offer to dance earlier, so she didn’t truly have anything to apologize for now.
“Well, I do have macaroons for myself,” as a reward for the completion of her own practice session, “but I can sit with you while you eat.” Without waiting for a reply, she settled down on the floor. “I didn’t bring any Assam tea, however, so you’ll have to make due without it.”

🏹 - Her head jerked up from her pile of books at the sound of footsteps, groaning as she reached for her glasses that she had put aside for what was supposed to only be a moment or two of resting her eyes. She blinked rapidly, trying to clear out the blur of her eyes.
“...Tendo.” She pushed her glasses into place, looking to her face for a split second before she gave out a sigh, looking at the ground.
“How long have I been asleep?”

Claudine flipped through the script in her hand. For a stage-play adaptation of Giselle to be their next performance; Class B was truly trying to outdo themselves, given that, as far as Claudine knew, there wasn’t a prexisting script for them to work with. And to have them need to audition for the roles too—! However, there wasn’t any singing, from the looks of things, and they hadn’t been given any choreography yet either. Maybe Class B would add both elements in after the initial auditions.
She paused, her script opened to about the half-way point, and glanced at Maya. Giselle might be the titular lead, but Albrecht’s deception was the key to everything going wrong. As such, both roles could be interesting in different ways. How would things play out this time? If Maya were to be Giselle... would she be able to get such an innocent, forgiving character down?
“Shall we do a run through first?” She tapped the front of her script. The audition piece was the towards the end, after all, when Giselle pleads for Albrecht’s life with the Queen of the Wilis, but they could just jump straight into that scene too. “And who do you want to start as?”

It seemed Claudine had fallen asleep in Maya’s room, some film or another still playing on the tablet between them. With a yawn, she rubbed her eyes and pushed herself up. Definitely had to go back to her own room, or— no, she wasn’t going to think about what Maya might say if they woke up together like this. As it was, she was stuck cleaning up after them now, like powering the tablet off and moving it to the desk. Did Maya need a blanket or was she actually comfortable as she was?
Claudine poked Maya’s cheek as her lips pursed. Even in her sleep, Maya looked ridiculously pleased with herself. “Stupid,” she muttered, “how can you be comfortable like this? You should have at least taken out your hair ribbon.” She prodded Maya’s cheek again.
Well, she simply couldn’t let Maya ruin her own sleep over something as silly as her hair accessories. Gently, Claudine removed the clips from Maya’s bangs and then the ribbon. Perhaps her own half awake state was to blame; perhaps she simply missed a certain level of casual affection. Whatever the case, her fingers lingered, and brushed a few strands of dark hair out of Maya’s face. For her to not so much as even stir— Maya must have been tired. All the more reason she should go to bed properly. And that included a proper ‘good night.’
“Bonne nuit, Maya.” Claudine leaned down and pressed a kiss against her temple, right about where her hair clips had probably been irritating her. Like a mother would for a wayward child (or so Claudine told herself). “Fais de beaux rêves.”
After she set the hair accessories down on the night-table, Claudine headed off to her own bed with a yawn.
"un si beau sourire. Ce serait merveilleux de se réveiller aussi."
Her smile slipped and vanished. Honestly, this girl! She really thought she could just say whatever she liked, didn’t she? “It’s ‘Ce serait merveilleux de réveiller à ceci,’ Maya.” If she’s going to be ridiculous in French, she should at least get her grammar right. Claudine glanced away from Maya, her own cheeks warmer than she ever wanted to admit to. “Ce serait bien de me réveiller a le tien aussi.”
