Stagflation Watch is up
Fuck me. I'm old enough to have lived through the stagflationary era of 1973-1983, and those were terrible times. To read the "watch" and get a good explanation of how and why stagflation happens, let me recommend this Associated Press article from today:
Oil shot to its highest price since 2023 after surging again because of the Iran war, and a weak update on the U.S. job market knocked stock
I take some comfort from the fact that, at least this time, we're not going to be doing it after several consecutive generations of childhood exposure to tetraethyl lead. At least this time our crime rates, around the developed world, are mostly going the right direction. That'll make it some better, right?

Eurodollar University is such an entertaining YouTube channel.
This dude presents factual information, knows nothing, and sounds like a complete idiot trying to explain what's going on until it becomes a repeat of the same cultish phrases. Like "forget-how-to-grow economy" when what he's talking about is STAGFLATION. Attributing the economic collapse to "forgetting how to grow" while simultaneously stating how OVERVALUED the stock market is.
I've just never seen so many people whiff so consistently and with such a straight face. I can't believe people actually watch him as "educational content" when his repetition just shows how he has no idea what is going on or why.
In contrast to gold which thrives during periods of recession and stagflation, silver, needs a global economic expansion in order to flourish, as it is more frequently employed in industrial production. Silver's major long-term catalyst is the progress toward green transition and growing EVs adoption, with the metal's widespread use in the photovoltaic sector as a key component in solar panels.
