No frills. I met with a vendor this week who said he hated working with designers. In his experience we were Too pushy. Too fussy... Too fancy pants... blah blah blah. Well, that’s not me. I show up in jeans and flats. Sometimes birks. Don’t get me wrong, I love a pretty heel but they hurt my retired dancers feet so that’s out. I’m The girl who is ever grateful to surround myself with the talent of others. It takes a team to do what we do. No islands here. When I left the vendor he said “thank you” for being so easy to work with. I needled him for stereotyping all lady designers... But here’s the deal. We ladies can lead a team and still be respectful. We ladies can lead wearing a pair of denim. Just be nice to people. Throw on a smile. Your talent will shine even brighter.
