Thrice Thought, Once Said {Into the Unknown AU}
He found himself thinking about her a lot more than usual but in a totally different way. Usually, when he thought about her it was about texting her or needing to tell her something or to recommend something to her. Now, he thought about how to keep her safe, about how he wanted to see that smile, how he wanted to be the cause of that smile. He denied it every time. When Scott gave him a knowing look, Stiles would dismiss it. He couldn’t. He couldn’t be in love.
The first time he thought it was when they where fourteen. Millie had dragged him out to the park. Jackson was there, the idiot, and had said something about Stiles. At first, the pair had ignored him but Jackson’s taunts only got louder. Millie had stood up, Stiles pulled her back and had murmured ‘let’s go’ but Millie pulled away from him. She tore into Jackson like never before. Jackson was speechless by the time she was finished. Who expected a small fourteen year old quiet girl to say such... colourful things? Millie had turned on her heel, grabbed Stiles’ hand and pulled him away. God, I love you.
The second time he thought it was when they were fifteen and got drunk for the first time. She had raided her dad’s liquor cupboard and she, Stiles and Scott sat in her living room drinking from the bottles. Millie had insisted that they play drinking games and the more they drank, the funner it was. It had been Scott’s idea to do impressions... it was Stiles’ idea for Millie to do a Yoda impression. Her impression was horrible, complete with her draping a sheet around herself to be his cloak. Stiles laughed until he cried. God, I love you.
The third time he thought it was when it was his sixteen birthday. She had told him weeks before that she hadn’t gotten him anything huge. He hadn’t minded. However, she had lied. When they’d gotten to Scott’s, the whole place was decked out. Junk food filled the kitchen, presents littered the coffee table and decorations adorned from the ceiling. She and Scott had grinned at him as he gaped. She had gifted him with a lot of silly gifts but his favourite had been a Batman t-shirt. “For my Batman,” she had said. God, I love you.
The first time he said it was when they were seventeen. They had been talking on the phone. It wasn’t the right time to tell her and he knew that but he did it anyway. She was talking about how she read this knew book and envisioned the ending and she was pissed. Her ranting made him laugh even though she was angry. It was when she told him that she had thrown the book out of the window that he grinned and mumbled, “God, I love you.” And after that, he never denied it again.
I'm watching Brooklyn nine nine and reading ITU and I'm just imagining stiles as jake and Millie as Amy. My heart can't take it
omg yes
stiles as the annoying, goofy one who always messes up millie’s desk and leaves stuff everywhere but overall cares so much and will protect her to the death. millie as the highly strung one who begins to slow down and relax more when a certain gangly goofy detective smiles at her.
YES

Into the Unknown AU: The Hunger Games
She was the girl who slunk into the shadows, never putting herself out there, never wanting the attention of the Capitol or the viewers. He was the boy who was loud and boisterous, gaining the Capitol’s love and hope after a few stupid jokes and winks. She was small and shy and he was tall and confident. She would roll her eyes at his antics and he would grin at her.
They were an unlikely duo. Loud and quiet; shy and confident; weak and strong... But it was in their differences that they found a similarity; they were scared.
This world, this game, was terrifying and they realised why the other was the way they were. She was quiet because she didn’t want the attention, she didn’t want to be idolised for murdering children. He was loud because he wanted the support, he wanted to stay alive.
It was in their differences they found something else entirely; love. A stupid thing, really. Love. They kept it hidden, their own little secret, because it was real and they didn’t want to exploit themselves; they didn’t want to make an enemy of the Capitol. They wanted to stay alive.
Life is cruel and that was just about the cruellest thing life had done; shoving two star-crossed lovers into the Games that would end in one killing the other. A terrible tale with a terrible ending.
