For my Stranger Things mutuals. :)
I kind of know Stan Herd (the artist who made this) from my time in Kansas. We ran in the same circles. CROP CIRCLES. GET IT??

Guy Spends 6 Months Recreating A Van Gogh Painting Using Plants In A 1.2-Acre Field
March 16, 2019
Can you imagine seeing a
Van Gogh
painting sitting right off the freeway on your morning commute or aerial ride?
One field in Egan, Minnesota got exactly this when the 64-year-old artist, Stan Herd, transformed it into Van Gogh’s 1889 “Olive Trees.”
Herd has been doing similar types of artworks or ‘earthworks’ since 1981. His most recent project took six months and spans 1.2 acres.
Plenty of mowing, digging, and planting was involved. All of which were sponsored by the Minneapolis Institute of Art. It can even be seen from the Minneapolis airport. The “earthwork” is comprised of mainly large native plants and materials. It was Herd’s way of uniquely engaging with his favorite artist.

Stan Herd, Of Us and Art: The 100 Videos Project, Episode 30
In a continued effort to bring art outside the museum’s walls and into the community in new and surprising ways, the Minneapolis Institute of Art has commissioned renowned crop artist Stan Herd to create a planted version of the beloved van Gogh’s Olive Trees painting.
Planting began this spring and the final piece will reveal itself in early fall, but in the meantime, watch it grow with us! The field location was chosen specifically so that the growing art can be seen from many flights coming and going from MSP airport. If you spot it, snap a pic and share it with #BDayMia #vangrow!
