“Why are we in a toy store again?” Stan asked looking at a rack of baby dolls.
“Because I need to get some presents for my nieces and nephews. Besides who cares how old you are who doesn’t like toys?” you smiled picking up a laser gun and shooting your boyfriend in the chest a few times.
He looked down at his chest and you shook your head, “Have a little fun.”
You shoved the toy in your boyfriend’s hands and he smiled softly at your childlike wonderment. As you skipped off into the next aisle he set the gun on the shelf and followed right behind.
“Slow down,” Stan chuckled as you practically ran through the store, seemingly on a mission. You were on a mission. You had been playing with all the toys you could find and Stan while laughing with you had not yet joined in on the action.
“Where are you going?” he asked as you slipped down another aisle.
You didn’t answer him instead you looked around until your eyes landed on what you were looking for. You grabbed the toy and tossed it to Stan.
“What’s this?” he looked down at his hand.
“Um, a lightsaber. Duh,” you flicked your wrist causing the lightsaber to extend. You held it, ready for battle, “C’mon. No one can resist a lightsaber battle.”
Stan looked at the lightsaber and you were afraid he was going to put it back but then he looked at you and swung the toy, in one swift motion turning it on.
Your face lit up as the two of you began to dual in store. You were careful not to destroy any of the displays but you did give each other a good whack here and there. Stan went for your leg and you fell to your knees.
“Please have mercy,” you begged.
“Mercy?” Stan asked. “You only brought this on yourself.”
He jabbed you carefully in the chest and you collapsed onto the floor ‘dead’. A few people started to clap and you looked up with a blush. Stan’s own cheeks were rosy as he helped you off the floor.
You took a bow then pulled Stan to another part of the store to actually shop now that you had gotten him to play. You realized you were still clutching your lightsaber, “Oh, we should probably put these back.”
Stan put his arm around your waist, preventing you from turning away, “Maybe we’ll keep these. We can have a little fun at home too.”
“Really?” you lit up.
Stan smiled and pressed a soft kiss to your lips and nodded, “Really.”

“Oh my god. Oh my god!” your voice was becoming more fearful as you watched your bed float higher and higher off the ground. Your cat was cautiously poking his head over the edge watching you.
He let out a meow and you screamed in surprise, your connection to the bed broke and it fell to the floor.
As it hit the ground, the spot your cat was in was quickly taken up by a young man, roughly around your age.
“Ow,” he muttered, sitting up, “Maybe not so high next time. Then again it was really on you. You’re just discovering your powers.”
He was muttering to himself as you just stared wide-eyed at him. Finally, you mustered up the courage to ask, “What did you so with my cat?”
“Oh! Sorry! Forgot. I always forget about this part. I’m Stan. Like your cat. Actually, I am your cat,” he gave a little nervous laugh. The confusion and person must have read on your face because he threw up his hands, “No! Wait! Watch!”
You let out a gasp and took a few steps back as you watched Stan morph back into your cat then back to his human self.
“I’m your familiar!” he gave you a sweet smile as he held out his hands.
“My what?” you were scared and so confused.
“Some witches get a familiar who can help them with spells and guidance and protection if they’re lucky although you got me so I don’t know how lucky that is but I’m here to help any way I can. I’m just really glad you finally discovered your powers so I could show my human side to you,” he adjusted his glasses as he gauged your reaction.
“Human? Witch? Wait, am I a witch?!” you felt a rush of surprise overtake you.
He nodded, “Yeah. Seems like a powerful one too.”
“I, um, I need to sit,” you reached behind you for a chair that wasn’t there as you got lightheaded.
Your wold began to blur and you felt yourself crumple and go straight for the floor. The last thing you saw before blacking out was Stan grabbing you just before you hit the ground.
I love your writing! Could you possibly write something with Kyle Taylor or Stan Lewis? Where one of them take the reader out on a 4th of July themed date? Thanks :)

“Hey, is everything okay?” Stan’s eyebrows furrowed as he caught sight of you and quickly took a seat next to you.
You jumped in surprise that anyone was even at the office today. You had come here to get some work done as a distraction plus you know you’d have the place to yourself since people would be out celebrating the fourth of July or getting ready for RTX.
“Huh? Oh, yeah. I just figured I’d get ahead of the curve today and take advantage of the quiet,” you half lied but only half.
“No plans? I mean I just came here to grab my bag since I left it here yesterday. You’re seriously the only one here. I thought your car was only here because you got a ride or something and left it yesterday,” Stan admitted.
“Um,” your voice became softer. You didn’t want it to crack, “It’s actually my first time celebrating without my family. The first holiday without them really. And I know it’s stupid since it's only the fourth but we’d always spend it together doing all those stupid traditions lawn games, eat watermelon, play with sparklers.” You realized you were crying suddenly and sniffed, “Sorry. I miss them you know. I love this job of course but this is my first time really on my own.”
Stan wrapped a warm and comforting arm around you, squeezing you into a tight hug, “Don’t be sorry. If I flew halfway across the country I’d miss them too. You know what. I have an idea. Are you okay here by yourself for a little bit?”
You nodded softly.
“Can I, uh, see your phone?” Stan questioned, sitting up a little.
You raised an eyebrow but pulled your phone from your pocket and handed it over. Stan tapped his phone number in, making sure he added a dog emoji next to his name and passed the phone back.
“That’s in case you need me or want to see pictures of Kevin. I will happily help in any way I can,” Stan smiled at you.
You wiped away a few left over tears, “Thanks. I’ll see you soon?”
“Soon,” Stan nodded before wandering off.
You looked down at your phone and opened a new text, ‘Can I have a picture of Kevin now? This is Y/N btw’
Your phone buzzed shortly after and a picture of a fluffy happy looking dog appeared on your phone. Content, you typed out a quick thanks and went back to work.
You tried to focus the next two hours but you were just so curious as to what Stan was up to. The two of you had chatted from time to time and worked closely in animating but Stan and you had never spent time out of the office together.
Finally, you heard footsteps and lifted your head with a bright smile though it fell quickly when you saw Miles.
“Well, hello to you too,” he laughed.
“Sorry. I just thought you were someone else,” you explained.
“Oh,” he raised an eyebrow, “Do tell?”
“Shove off,” you tossed a pencil at him. “What are you doing here anyway?”
“Grabbing my phone because like an idiot I left it here,” he admitted nonchalantly. “And you?”
“Working,” you replied like it was the most obvious thing.
“On a holiday?” Miles shook his head. “You know there is no employee of the month here.”
“Yeah only because I’d win it every month,” you replied with a smirk.
You and Miles chatted a little longer when Stan finally turned back up. You smiled at him.
“Oh. I get it now,” Miles smirked as he looked between the two of you. “I’ll be on my way now.”
“What did he mean by that?” Stan questioned.
“Nothing,” you waved it off then asked excitedly, “So where’d you go?”
Stan laughed softly, “Where is not important. What is the real question.”
“What?” you raised an eyebrow.
“Exactly,” he confirmed and held out a hand for you.
You shrugged and took his hand. Stan led you through a few halls then led you finally to the live action stage.
You gasped as you caught the site before you. Stan had managed to pull out a picnic blanket and loads of pillows. He even got some food fit for the fourth of July. The lighting was dimmed and he had little LEDs around to create the effect of fireflies.
“It's not much but I figured this way you won’t be alone and hopefully it’ll still get you the same feeling. I mean, I know I’m not your family but hopefully, you’ll miss them a little less now.”
Stan looked at you nervously and you didn’t even take a second to hesitate in tackling him with a hug, “This is seriously the most amazing thing anyone has ever done for me.”
Stan seemed to melt in your arms for a moment before jumping to attention, “Oh, one more thing.” He ran off and the lights dimmed completely before a project hit one of the green screens. You gasped as a fireworks show was displayed in front of you. “What Fourth of July is complete without fireworks.”
You looked to Stan, teary eyed as he took the spot next to you, watching the fireworks.
“This is so sweet but why? We’re barely even friends,” you pointed out.
You couldn’t really tell in the dark but you were sure Stan was blushing, “You’re so kind and hard working and no one should be alone on any holiday.” He paused and added, “Though there are some selfish reasons there. I haven’t been able to take my eyes off your smile since we met and I couldn’t let that be diminished for even a moment if I could help it.”
You had no words of how grateful you were and how sweet Stan was so instead you opted to take his hand in yours before leaning over and pressing a soft kiss to his cheek.
Prompt: “Someone totally spiked the eggnog but I didn’t notice until I was about four glasses too deep.”

Holiday Flash Fic Prompts Here!
You smiled as you finally spotted Stan in the crowd of your coworkers. Barbara looked in the same direction you had before turning back with a big grin, “Tonight could be the night. Christmas is a magical time.”
Your smile faltered for a second before you turned back to her, “What?”
“You and Stan. And don’t even deny it. The two of you have been making heart eyes at each other for the past two years,” she took a sip of her drink as she raised her eyebrows at you.
“Correction. I have been making ‘heart eyes’ at him for the past two years and I’m just lucky Stan is oblivious to it. We don’t need to make our work lives awkward with my silly little crush on him,” you rolled your eyes but couldn’t help but glance at him again. He was standing off to side by himself, swaying a little to the music.
“Trust me. It’s not one-sided. Now go!” she pushed you in the direction of Stan.
You took a deep breath. You were allowed to talk to your friend, you reminded yourself as made your way over to Stan.
“Stan!” you called over the music to get his attention.
He looked around at the sound of his name. As soon as his eyes landed on you his smile grew and nearly made you melt on the spot.
He called your name back and set his drink down so he could give you a big hug. You laughed at the unexpected gesture but wrapped your arms around him in return.
As you took a step back he swayed a little. You thought he was dancing to the music until he spoke up, “I have been looking for you everywhere!” By the slurred speech you could tell Stan was pretty drunk.
You looked over at his glass to see what he had been drinking and instantly felt guilty, “Um, Stan, how much eggnog have you had?”
“Only a few cups. Don’t worry there is plenty left,” he gave you such an innocent smile.
You bit your lip before confessing, “Me and Barb spiked the eggnog earlier. I hate to break it to you but I think you’re drunk.”
“What?!” he looked so genuinely shocked you had to bit back your laughter. “Oh no. What are we going to do?”
The way he was looking at you for help was making you melt. You came close and wrapped an arm around him, “We are going to go back to my car and I’m going to take you home. You got your keys?”
Stan pat his pocket and they gave a little jingle. You nodded and took him out to the car. As he got in you texted a few of your friends you were leaving for the night and you texted Barbara you were taking Stan home. She sent back a comment about using protection and you chose to ignore it.
Stan was pretty quiet on the ride to his apartment, only him humming along to the songs on the radio. He even hummed if even if he didn’t know the song, making up his own tune.
When you got him up to his apartment he turned to you and frowned, “I don’t want to be alone.”
You looked back out to your car in the parking lot then to his pout and sighed, “Come on.” The smile he gave you made it all the worthwhile.
You took off your heels and tossed them by his front door.
“I like it when you don’t wear heels,” he commented.
“Oh, really?” you smirked as you tossed your bag next to your shoes.
He nodded, “I like being taller than you. Plus smaller you is much cuter” That made you blush. “Also, you told me you are much more comfortable in sneakers and I like it when you’re comfortable.”
That made your heart skip a beat.
“Speaking of which,” you jumped in, “Do you have something I can borrow for the night. I like my party dress but it doesn’t make great PJs.”
Stan stumbled towards his bedroom, flicking on lights as he went.
When he came back he handed you a set of pajamas, “You know this isn’t how I thought the first time you spending the night would go.”
“You’ve thought about me spending the night?” you asked, trying to keep calm but your heart was racing.
Stan’s eyes went wide as he realized what he had said as out loud. He started stuttering and blush.
You grabbed his hand to calm him and you don’t know how you got the courage to say it, maybe it was the fact he might not remember any of this in the morning, “It’s not how I imagined this going either.” You paused to gauge his reaction but when he didn’t say anything you dropped his hand and turned around, “Mind helping with the zipper?”
Stan didn’t hesitate to help with the zipper. You gave him a soft thank you before heading to his bathroom to change. You had been at his place plenty of times but you never spent the night.
After you were ready for bed you found Stan in his bed half asleep. You smiled as you stood at the doorframe, “If you need me I’ll be on the couch.”
“No. I’ll take the couch,” Stan started to sit up.
You walked over so you could push him back towards the bed, “No. Stay. Trust me a hangover and the couch first thing in the morning is not good.”
“It’s not the gentlemanly thing to do,” he frowned.
You looked over at his bed, “You know what…” You rounded to the other side and flopped onto the bed, “Look at that big enough for the both of us. Now go to sleep.”
Stan sighed and turned off his light. You both snuggled in, keeping a safe distance.
You were almost out when Stan said your name so softly you almost thought it was a dream until he whispered it one more time.
“Yeah?” you asked.
“I probably won’t ever be brave enough to say this again and I might not remember this in the morning but I like you. Like really like you. Maybe even love you,” he confessed.
Your heart was pounding so loud that you were sure he could hear it but it was obvious he didn’t as he called your name again.
“Yeah. I- The feeling is mutual,” you told him softly, reaching out and find his hand to hold.
He squeezed your hand though shortly after that he started to snore. You leaned over and pressed a kiss to his hair.
It took you a lot longer to fall asleep as your head with filled with thoughts of what the next morning would bring. Sleep overtook you eventually.
When you did awake the next morning, you rolled over to see Stan watching you with a sheepish smile, “Sorry. I just- I really could get used to that. Oh, wait. Um, I was supposed to ask if last night was a dream before saying things like that.”
You laughed softly, “I hope last night wasn’t a dream otherwise you can’t say things like that and I can’t do things like this.”
You leaned in and gave Stan a kiss which he was more than eager to return.
