Stanchez Gem!AU
I know the fever of gems!au has passed, but I’ve never seen one with Stanchez before, so here’s my prompt:
Rick: Richterite. Richterite crystals are long and prismatic, or prismatic to fibrous aggregate, or rock-bound crystals. Colors range from brown, grayish-brown, yellow, brownish- to rose-red, or pale to dark green (via Wiki). Due to his bitter personality, Rick’s color would be more like this one:
Stan: Staurolite
It’s a red brown to black, mostly opaque, nesosilicate mineral with a white streak (via Wiki). Stan canonically hates colors, which fits perfectly for an opaque gem. Plus its peculiar shape could substitute the fish symbol on Stan’s fez.
Fusion: Moonstone (orthoclase)
The reason I chose moonstone for their fusion is due to its beautiful properties. When light falls between these thin, flat layers, it scatters in many directions, producing the phenomenon called adularescence. Adularescence is the light that appears to billow across a gemstone, giving its surface a glowing appearance.
This is a beatiful metaphor for their fusion/relationship. They’re both opaque, colorless gems with few emotions to offer, but when they discover the meaning of love, this light shines across them, becoming something more. They’re still pale in some parts, but their colors gleams according to situations involving their feelings.
Also moonstones are deeply related to emotions due to its adularescence, which means they will learn little by little how to deal with them.
