Idea: customizing the mobile theme
Where do I begin?
Well, let's start with the theme part. The first thing that I was doing on Tumblr (back in September 2010) was to customize and to code a theme, but it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. I wasn't familiarized with the variables and blocks, which was really confusing for me at first. So I started to search and install a theme to take a look at the code so I know how it works. It took me a while to understand the theme code, as it wasn't an ordinary code for me. I figured out how it works and started coding, everything worked and I also finished the theme as I wanted. I had a little time management problem a while ago and couldn't find the time to be on Tumblr and to study at the same time, so I took a little break.
I guess it was a month ago when I decided to 'come' back and start to code everything all over again just to make a considerably more enjoyable experience. I wanted a simple bright design like the one I coded before.
I finished coding the first theme - so I was heading to the second theme. You may ask yourself now "second theme?" - well, as of today, you can generate the code for the mobile theme of your blog which is used by the iPhone or the iPod Touch for example. Android phones usually use the same mobile theme as the iPhone.
I shortly post how to add the mobile theme to your blog with some screenshots.

Number 11 Dad
I just finished up some design work for my friend Jeremy Jernigan's new parenting blog project called Number 11 Dad. When you have a second check it out. Jeremy's got a roster of blog authors including another friend of mine, Matt Price.
The idea behind it is that the vast majority of dads in America are ill-equipped to do their job as a parent, or have chosen to shirk their responsibilities. Jeremy is going to take a stab at changing that with this blog. As a fairly new dad myself, it'll be on the list of blogs I subscribe to for sure.
For me, this project was a slam dunk. It's a great cause and is very strong from a conceptual/brand standpoint. To top that off, it's a WordPress blog using 8bit's fantastic Standard Theme. It's super easy to customize and hack to pieces without being too easy to shoot yourself in the foot.

Central's New Blog
In my last post I talked about working with WordPress and Standard Theme on Central's new blog. I officially got started on the project right before Christmas snuck up on us, and we launched last weekend; check it out. Not too shabby for a quick turnaround. I think it turned out pretty well. What do you think?
