poe lettered in chess and finn was a star athlete

finn would little spoon so hard and be really into curling up against poe and that would be a direct result of living a very cold and affection-lacking life. and poe would just return that with the most affection a single human being could give.

ohmy ogd, he and poe would be that one couple that’s always touching and no one can tell for sure if they hate it because their pda is off the charts or if they’re such a cute pair that the pda is sweet and you don’t even notice it after a while

interesting concept:

finn and poe kissing for the first time.

finn is still recovering after a while, and poe comes to visit him often.

on one particular day, when finn is feeling extra sore, poe offers to give him a massage. not only is poe the best pilot in the galaxy, he’s also (arguably) the best masseur in the galaxy. when poe is all finished and done, finn sits up, cracks his back, and then kisses poe right on the mouth.

poe is just, like, freaking out and so is finn because he had meant to just say “gee willikers, that was great, thanks poe!” but he messed up hE DONE MESSED UP. then poe snaps out of it and smiles widely and then finn smiles back and they’re just grinning like dorks at each other.

OR literally on accident on both of their parts because it just seemed so natural. they got up one morning and kissed each other before breakfast, giggling and smiling at each other the second they notice it.

OR poe getting back from a mission and kissing finn on the cheek really quick saying “i’ve gotta go see the general, i’ll be out as soon as she lets me.”

as he’s walking away from finn, poe realizes what he just did and he doesn’t turn around, just walks away with his eyes wide open and playing off his blush like it’s some sort of post-flight adrenaline thing (it isn’t). if he did turn back he would just see finn covering his face with his hands and grinning.

leia takes one look at poe and decides she isn’t dealing with the clearly preoccupied pilot, sending him right back out where finn is waiting like a jittery puppy. 

OR sometime, when rey returns after finding luke, she realizes how in love finn and poe are with each other. she doesn’t meddle. she just helps a little bit. (okay, she helps a lot.)

rey seems to be spending an usual amount of time doing actual work whenever poe needs help with something pilot-y. poe thinks about asking finn for help before he remembers how little finn actually knows about ships...then poe realizes he has the perfect opportunity to teach finn those things.

what ensues is a lot of finn nodding along when he doesn’t understand or hear a single thing that poe is saying, poe forgetting what he was saying in the middle of what could have been a teaching moment, and not a lot of actual learning.

one day (finally, finally) poe gets a chance to show something to finn―adjusting an x wing gauge. finn is obviously fascinated with everything poe has to say about adjusting gauges, so they squeeze under an x wing together and poe starts fiddling around and explaining things. that’s when poe just breaks the gauge off.

he stares at the object in his hand for a while before looking at finn. “what i just did there,” he says, “is exactly what you don’t want to do.” finn is looking back at poe. they both lean in, they kiss. finn doesn’t even know what a gauge is.

(eventually, finn will realize that whenever his ignorance of piloting skills is mentioned, poe feels the need to kiss him. he obviously spends enough time around poe and rey to understand what the difference between an 4l4 and a 9x2 thrust engine is, but if he claims not to just so poe will kiss him on the cheek and then explain it again, really, what’s the harm?)
