Yes to Diversity hustings Cambs. #GE2015
Around 40 people came to the hustings organised by Cambridge Unite Against Fascism to discuss how the parliamentary candidates would oppose racism and build diversity. Speakers from Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Greens all committed themselves to opposing institutional racism, Islamophobia and discrimination against travellers, Weyman Bennett, joint national secretary of Unite Against Fascism, said that in an election characterised by racism, it is vital that a strong anti racist current is built to ensure that whatever happens in the polls, we are ready to oppose the growth of both Fascism and populist racism.
Speakers from UKIP and the Conservative party declined invitations to attend."
