Made two of Dionysus’s sons who were Argonauts! On the left is Phlias and on the right is Staphylus. I got inspired by @starweaverblog ‘s designs of them.

Children of Ariadne and Theseus

Moreover, some say that Ariadne actually had sons by Theseus, Oenopion and Staphylus, and among these is Ion of Chios, who says of his own native city: “This, once, Theseus's son founded, Oenopion.”

Plutarch, Life of Theseus. 20.2

The idea of Oenopion and Staphylus as the offspring of Ariadne and Theseus is very much a later and obscure tradition. If not already obvious by the fact that the names of the kids, Oenopion (wine drinker) and Staphylus (grape cluster) makes it pretty clear that they were originally Dionysus’s kids.

It’s still an interesting idea though, and with some tragic implications found in an attic vase art that implies Ariadne was forced to give up her children with Theseus before she could marry Dionysus…

Could you please create artwork or doodles of one of the gods (Like Hermes or Apollo, Artemis. Heck, throw in Ares and Aprodiote and even grandpa Zeus) babysitting Dio and Ari's kids. Like for example they go out to a party and they come back to see absolute destruction and the god standing on the table because these kids are feral (they are Dio's kids) and trying to warn them off with his/her staffs and throw food to get them away. Dionysus leaves them there of course and only calls the kids off hours later because Ariadne said so and it's their bedtime with their babysitter clearly traumatised. Or you can do one where the kids are getting into mischief with their babysitter (probs Hermes) You can do whatever scenario comes to your mind though
