Introducing the newest member of my fleet, My favorite GWR 4-6-0, The STAR CLASS! How can I tell them apart? They are four cylinder, so the inside cylinders project forward of the smokebox, the outside are mounted behind the smokebox. They have older style cabs. A quick way to identify some of the class is the lack of external steam pipes, although some would gain these later in life.

Why are they my favorite? They are a wonderful blend of early GWR elegance with later GWR bulk. They are visably powerful engine, noticeably heavier than the earlier Saints, but not as heavy as to lose the elegance like some later classes... *cough* King *cough*. 

Anyway I hope you all love her as much as I do.
