Cosmic Witchcraft Challenge: Day 21
try divining with the stars and share the results
It’s been raining nonstop since Saturday :( so I haven’t been able to go out and look at the stars in person. I lit the candles on my Jupiter and Moon altars, lit a small white candle to represent Polaris, loaded up Stellarium and started searching the sky.
I’ve always been drawn to Vega since I watched the movie Contact, so I ended up looking nearby for something indicating what I might do to find some inner peace. Storms always bring back some bad memories, so it’s been a tough couple of days.
As I looked for distinctive patterns, I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the sky was, even in a computer program. There’s a ton of light pollution where I am, so there were more stars visible in the digital sky than the sky hiding behind the clouds right here.
It made me realize that I’ll always be able to find peace in the stars. Even if I can’t see them, they’re there. The multitude of stars I’ve never seen thanks to human lights were there millions, billions of years before I was born.
I’m so happy with my results. It’s amazing how turning to the sky can be more grounding than anything I use for comfort here on Earth.
