But I simply had a question, if you’d like to answer. Do you believe any of the Zabrak brothers would ever get involved with a Jedi? Or perhaps someone force-sensitive but not connected to any side? Thank you, anon. It pleases me to know that some of our offerings resonate with you. As this is a direct question I'll do my best to outfit you with a direct answer rather than something fictive as is the impression I'm getting from your ask.
Firstly, if you're a creator, you need no one's permission to dabble in whatever dynamic interests you when it comes to these characters, and the question of whether they would or they won't is up to you to answer based on your personal preference and not some prescription, because even within the constraints of canon and knowing what we know of Maul and Savage, a deft hand can guide their journeys in such a way that alters their thinking and impacts their actions -- even and especially under circumstances that appear unexpected.
Maul in particular was trained from an early age to hate the Jedi, but on the midway, the focus shifts that animosity to one Jedi and a mission of futile revenge that carries him through the rest of his life. But wouldn't it be interesting if he met someone else along the way that could alter his perception of the Force and its nature, thereby altering him and instigating a paradigm shift? Change his perception of the universe and his place in it? Change his fate, once robbed from him, now restored with renewed purpose?
What would you want him to hear, if that were the case?
In my heart of hearts (and I have several to work with), I would hope that he would learn that he need not be alone, regardless any differences and demarcations that should create division between him and a lover... even a Force user who claims perfect neutrality (how juicy!), because Maul is the fulcrum that catalyses the dynamic with the strength of his experience.
I think we should remember that the nature of the Force is rooted in duality, but neither can exist without the other: the light is always rendered brighter when offset against darkness, and doesn't that make for an interesting dynamic when the idealogies of either side don't necessarily agree with each other?
Where possible, I opt for conflict between characters to see how the shared adversity might shape their futures when the Force endeavours to thrust opposites together.
No one said it needed to be a pain-free process... in fact, that's what I'd hope for, because absent conflict, there is only pwp. (A/N: Broad stroke generalization here to make at least one joke.)
