So, as a shipper, obviously I have my otp's, seven pairs of homosexual couples all canons of course (two of them actually) but i really love my gays, they've come with me since 2019 when i discover wattpad (I ordered from the most recently to the oldest)

Look, look, idk where this idea came from but the idea of Peter Quill becoming platonic soulmates with Scott Lang fills me with joy.

Like, Peter just shows up to earth one day and says he’s gonna stay for a bit as a vacation. Unfortunately he knows very little about earth anymore and SOMEONE has to look after this full grown idiot.

So the heroes throw him into Scott Lang’s corner since Scott is living alone and not handling post-blip as well as he could be. Captain Sam Wilson insists it might be a good idea to give Scott company outside of his bestie Luis and his ?kinda? girlfriend Hope, both who are busy with their own life’s post-blip (Luis found a pretty waitress down the street and they move fast). Cassie visits but she’s so used to being without Scott that she finds it hard to incorporate him back into it now that’s she’s grown up. Scott understands, even if it hurts. A lot of his friends and family moved on without him to cope and survive the travesty.

So Peter ends up being Scott’s new roomie. And Scott’s glad to have the company, really, but he’s tired. He missed so much after being stuck in the quantum realm. He’s, to put it bluntly, stuck in a big old heaping shit pile of depression. His episode is hitting hard now that there’s nothing impending to fix. He feels alone.

And Peter’s not all that good with pep talks. He’s a blunt guy verging into asshole territory most days. So he figures if Scott won’t get up and seize the day himself, he’ll make him. Peter makes him breakfast in the mornings and forces him to shower and drags him along to a bunch of tourist sites and complains and marvels about all the changes that have happened since he left.

And Scott actually does start to feel better. He starts to feel fond of Peter after a bit too. Peter has that spark of child-like energy and wonder that reminds Scott of Cassie as a kid, but still holds up a decent adult conversation with Scott. He’s like a mix of all the good people in his life who were left behind for five years after he disappeared and Scott just latches onto Peter.

And Peter? Peter is living the dream. He’s drinking in the attention and this new friendship he’s created. He feels accomplished after getting Scott to open back up. Plus, the guy has good taste in “nostalgia music” with him only being a bit older than Peter. He gets a guide for his new earth he once called home and gets a constant figure in his life who isn’t all that bad in the long run.

They trade secrets dead in the night like star crossed lovers, they create inside jokes like best friends, and they pick at each other like siblings. Scott hugs him like a son and Peter tucks his head under his chin like he’s a young boy again.

They become practically soulmates, even if they don’t light a flame inside each other like Hope does to Scott or Gamora (and half the galaxy lets be honest) did to Peter.

And eventually Peter has to leave earth. They both cry a little (read: a lot) when they say goodbye, and Peter leaves Scott something to contact him with while he’s gone. Peter is noticeably bummed when he leaves earth with his crew, and Rocket might tease him for being sentimental, but he’s not cruel about it. And when Peter gets the first message from Scott after only 24 hours, his mood shifts into that of a content, almost happy one.

They send messages back and forth over the course a year before Peter returns to earth for a short visit. And Scott is the first to run up to him and welcome “Peter, my boy, my man!” back, with a crushing hug.

Peter gets teased plenty by his crew mates about it and Cassie is there too, all suited up like her father, and cracking a few jokes of her own.

Scott and Peter aren’t too bothered about it, not really, even if they make a show of being so. After all, nothings better than having your soulmate in reach and safe.

Peter Quill x Scott Lang T for a teensy bit of language for @elisaphoenix13 in a world where everyone can find true love with a simple matching flower, Scott Lang is struggling to find out where he belongs.

The end of his relationship came with a lot of stunning realizations. he loves me The first being that Scott always figured it would end, and that he'd be alone again. His lack of faith in his own relationship's ability to last was telling. he loves me not It had been three months since he'd ended things with * him *. It didn't feel like yesterday, or some other cliche. in fact, it felt like a lifetime ago. And since then, he'd felt a lot of loneliness. He knew they both did. he loves me Today, he was waiting for the train and absently picking the petals off a flower that had appeared in a crack in the sidewalk. The dandelion had a million tiny petals and he always wondered if the little yellow weeds really could tell him how his life would go, if there was someone out there really tailor-made for him, or if he'd end up alone. he loves me not  "Mind if I sit?"

Scott looked up and oh fucking hell, this was his weakness. Men like this, powerful and elegant looking but with goofy smiles on their perfect lips and mischievous sparkles in their beautiful eyes, and strong hands he could already feel roaming his skin and strong, bulging muscles begging to be released from that shirt... He should go back to picking at his flower before he says something that will land him in this man's bed. So he makes his mouth say, "go ahead," and he goes back to picking his flower. he loves me

The man calmly sits next to him, casually crossing his ankle over his knee and resting his arm along the bench, and then he goes back to scrolling through his phone...  he loves me not 

...but his eyes keep sliding over to the dwindling flower in Scott's hand.  he loves me

Scott catches him looking at his flower, now half empty, and he hates the universe for doing this to him. he loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he-  "He absolutely adores you and would die for you." That huge, strong hand lays over both of his, and his flower. And then he rolls up his sleeve to reveal a single dandelion tattooed into his skin. "The name's Peter Quill," he whispered, “And I’ve been looking for you for a very, very long time.” Scott met his soulmate's eyes and said, "Scott Lang. Take me home." He did. He found his soulmate's dandelion tattoo in a pretty indecent place, too~
