Certainly, he wasn't prepared for the space travel and he didn't know anything about new technologies, however he appeared unwilling to be a burden for Rachet during their journey.    “ -- ... I don’t know what you mean. ” Oh, but he does -- metal hand comes to his mouth, a cough -- one he doesn’t need -- before he turns away from the screen. He definitely wasn’t looking at Courtney Gears. 

“ I was just ... examining the situation at-hand, Ratchet. We need a plan. ” Not so believable, but the robot hoped that it would suffice.  He wasn’t really lying, considering Courtney was the situation they were trying to figure out -- if he said that, though, Ratchet wouldn’t let him live it down. He knows his friend would surely use that for fodder in teasing him.
