I love neighborhood gems and Starbelly is by far one of THE best restaurants in the Castro area and to me one of my favorite places to go, period. Always a consistent menu, super friendly staff (of which I know several), great wine selection, comfortable, cozy and with an excellent decor. Went there last night to celebrate a friends birthday and 3 hours later I left there with a smile, a seriously full belly, a nice buzz and the top button of my jeans undone; no joke! We had many many items, but shown here is A beautiful cheese and salumi platter with fresh artisan bread, a tangy and sweet perfectly baked huge local sardine with padron peppers and one of my favorite dishes, their mussels in a spicy tomato broth with chorizo, fresh cilantro and artisan grilled bread.
