It was only natural he’d attract attention on his first big public foray but Zach knew it needed to happen at some point, a carnival might hopefully pull people away a little faster. As it stood he’d been on best behaviour thus far, smiling, answering questions best he could and going about having very public ‘fun’ as a teenager should. 

Stopping again he sat down and let out a breath, “I was hoping this event would make me seem like less of an attraction. No such luck this far.”

There was something inherently funny about making faces at mirrors and watching his distorted reflection do the same. So what if people thought it was childish, there was definitely not enough childish fun going on about now. Snorting at the latest reflection he couldn’t help but comment.

Stepping off the Zipper for her third time Linda couldn’t help but chuckle at some of the younger crowd who looked ready to (and in some cases were) losing their lunch. She shook her head, “Kids these days, I mean c’mon, the ride isn’t that hair.” Pulling her glasses out of her pocket and fixing them back on she grinned, “Think I might go for round four.”

He had a corndog in one hand, a drink in the other and had already won a huge bear from one of the stalls that was over half his size and draped over his shoulders piggy-back style. “I see you eyeing up Sir Bearington The Third, he’s something right?”

At just under an hour since the ordeal began and equipped with the intel provided from within the funhouse, Police Commissioner Jim Gordon and SCPD Officers Dick Grayson and Christopher Gates were able to successfully locate and free the hostages without incident. Moments after removing the hostages from their location, there was a tremendous explosion in the building where they had previously been housed, triggered by the exit door in the Laff in the Dark Funhouse. Neither the SCPD or hostages were harmed in the explosion or resulting fire. Emergency crews were able to contain the blaze. 

The individuals chosen for Joker’s scheme emerged largely unscathed and were able to apprehend Harley Quinn. Joker, having disappeared at the turn of the hour, was not seen again on carnival grounds. 

Five unfortunate carnival attendees fell victim to the fatal toxin released from the game booth and two more to gunshot wounds as they tried to escape the carnival. 

In the late hours after emergency crews and police vacated the premises, the rides, booths, and all evidence of the carnival was demolished, leaving an eerily empty lot and the lingering scent of blood and cotton candy.

Event Starter Call for Jean Grey!!

Television broadcasts across the city have been interrupted by a live feed that appears to be broadcast from inside the carnival currently operating in Star City.

It seems as though the criminal known as the Joker and his accomplice, Harley Quinn, have taken seven citizens hostage.

The Gazette has received reports from inside that carnival-goers are not being permitted to leave and that the perimeter is being patrolled by heavily armed guards.

We are told that the SCPD is working to resolve this alarming situation. Police Commissioner Jim Gordon has issued a warning that citizens are to remain in their homes and not go near the carnival.

March To The Tent {Semi-Open Starter}

Bobby felt like lead had fallen into his gut (as opposed to three hot dogs) when he saw the macabre announcement on the screens around them. He didn’t want to go, nothing good could come from this, but when he saw those seven people, looking scared, bound with explosives attached an almost detached look of calm came over his face, he dropped his fourth (uneaten) hot dog in the trash and began making a decisive treat towards the Dark Funhouse.

A few steps in he spotted another on the same route and nodded his head, for once no smile on his face, “Another for the chopping block hmm?” he asked.
