Casting is hard and doing it in front of a live audience....even harder. Here we have @zombiegrub_sc casting @reynor02 vs Special in one of the many epic games that occurred during WCS Montreal 2019. For those of you that don't know, @zombiegrub_sc is a professional caster in the StarCraft community and has covered many events over the years. She recently posted a few pictures via her instagram which gives you a glimpse into what it takes to become a pro in casting high level games:⠀ ⠀ "My notes for Montreal. I use a few different things, usually one notebook for the overall event, one notepad for quick thoughts and tidbits, and print outs for stuff like rankings but also tongue twisters to warm up with. I also use Evernote to write down build orders and summaries of recent VODs (like Challenger). I like using color and fun tabs to make it a bit more visually appealing. A lot of stuff is basic info (like the prize pool), but more original stuff like thinking up storylines or getting player feedback is also included. Basic or not, at least 50% of the point of studying for an event is to boost my confidence. Do I also feel fancy walking around with a briefcase? Yes, but that also just boosts confidence. To be able to say "yes it is" versus "I'm not sure" can be a surprisingly big difference.⠀ ⠀ I plan on making a video going over my prep for events in more detail.
