I get too attached to my artwork, so I have sold very few originals

I can’t wait to move out and have my own place but on the other hand that is a lot of responsibility and I can’t see myself ever moving out :/

I agree with everything youve said here. Even before I read your arguments, as soon as I thought about it I could see Greyback as a Gryffindor. And I would prefer it that way, though as you say its almost certainly not canon.

It's funny, but even before lupinatic requested the meta, I didn't think much about it until I was writing Theodore Nott's POV - and Nott, at this point wholeheartedly Slytherin, is horrified and basically reacting by default as "No, he can't be a Slytherin, he can't be from my House" - and as he tried to justify it, I realized that there's actually a really good justification to be made for Fenrir Greyback the Gryffindor. It's now my personal head canon - I think you could make an interesting backstory for him either way (the Slytherin pure-blood who, once excluded, decides to get back at pure-bloods by making lycanthropes the new pure-blood - he's essentially making Death Eater ideology his own by envisioning werewolves as the ruling class), or as the Gryffindor who's become twisted. 

But I really, really, really like the idea of a Gryffindor Greyback, because the Sorting is still perfectly within character - you could see a non-werewolf Greyback as a child in Gryffindor House, someone who values bravery and physical courage and toughness, all bluster and boldness and a bully. Because Gryffindor, as it stands, really just as Peter Pettigrew as its only canon villain to stand against legions of Gryff heroes, and so many fans see Pettigrew as being mis-Sorted because JKR doesn't show us his Gryffindor traits at all - it would be wonderful to have another Gryffindor villain, as opposed to simply piling onto the dozens of evil Slytherins and perpetuating that stereotype.

(Sigh. I meant to update that fic today, along with my other one, but instead I ended up writing lots of meta. I need to update that fic! The excerpt of the fic that served as the germ of the meta under the cut:) 

            He can’t have been Slytherin, Nott thought. He didn’t want Greyback to have been a part of his House; besides, Greyback wasn’t a pure-blood. Maybe Gryffindor? But all the Death Eaters were Slytherin, almost all, and maybe Greyback had been Sorted before he’d been bitten…maybe he’d even been a pure-blood before he’d been bitten, or a half-blood who’d believed in the Dark Lord’s ideology, as so many half-blooded Death Eaters did…

            No, he thought. He refused to believe that Greyback would have been in Slytherin; he didn’t want the werewolf to have been a part of his House. Greyback wasn’t a believer in pure-blood ideology, he wasn’t cunning; he might have been power-hungry, but that was the only Sorting criteria Nott knew the werewolf met.         

          Gryffindor makes more sense, he thought. The werewolf was brave, reckless, ferocious, not one for planning ahead. It made him feel better.
