Star Eaters art fight dump
Attacks on Sleepy_Tiger, Miotide, Fonsett, and Tigereye
I love this species. They're like... space dragons and their eyes just float in their heads. Look at them, Star Eaters!
Anyway hi my artfight is https://artfight.net/~Moosifurr

walks towards you faster with intent to make you infodump about stars/star eaters. give me random facts i will consider paying you in images of pasta
PASTA IS VALID PAYMENT
Also i do apologize for any repeat information of stars/star eaters that may be present or contradict previous information! Nothing is really set in stone atm, lots of retconning now that i’m looking back at everything haha
✨ Stars✨
They love soft squishy things!! So they’re likely to have lots of fluffy pillows in their homes.
When depicted by mortals (aka hoomans) they’re usually depicted as seers or angels
Can they have wings??? Heck yes.
They don’t really like getting into fights but please do not try to fight them you will lose
Older art from them is definitely very odd, looking something like hieroglyphics mixed with abstract forms. Not even they understand it, but to be fair their old art was only found on the planets.
They love their pets and will cherish them and give them the best quality food available to them.
Some Stars wilingly gives up their cores to mortals, though they still retain their powers as long as the core isn’t consumed. They have a close bond to those known as the Celestial Vanguards whom they give up their cores to. They will then help the planet advance into their future tech and can reclaim their cores at any time to become a proper star again.
💫Star Eaters💫
Depending on when they consumed their first core, they’re likely to stick to the same style of clothing (even if it conflicts with the modern day)
The Pillars can appoint Minor Pillars, or Pillars who do their work for them.
Some Star Eaters actually push their kind further into the future, having gained something to aid them in advancement. They tend to be identified with much more abstract or futuristic clothing.
Star eaters can actually betray each other and steal stars from those they betray.
If a star eater loses all their stars, they’ll become mortal again and have a normal lifespan. The only remnant showing/indicating they were a star eater is their faint eye glow or their hands looking like the night sky (deep blue, no stars). These star eaters usually never pick up a star again and isolate themselves from the world in fear of encountering a Star Eater again.
Some Star Eaters can mimic stars. These Eaters have consumed enough to look like a star, and are usually under Azaziel’s rule.
Star Eaters can also mimic Celestial Vanguards, allowing them to take those cores as well. However, there is a LOT more risk in doing so.
Aaand that is all i got for now lol
Let these poor boys sleep

So consumed by hope you cannot see the devastation in front of you
(i;m not bothering you with my infodump requests am i??) how does the star ranking system work? i assume since stars can pretty much pick their power that it's probably ranking-based.. teach me how it works? :eyes:
(Heavens no!! Its fun to infodump hehe!)
Okay so the spectral class of stars (OBAFGKM) is basically their ranks with O stars being the highest possible rank with access to all possible powers and M class stars being limited to some basic abilities like gravity manipulation or minor light manipulation. The star’s eyes indicate their rank, and even one family might have multiple ranks among them, except Type O stars, so they don’t follow the strict heirarchy of power too much. A star can’t enter different “ranks” UNLESS they have entered a giant phase, a supergiant phase, or have entered its white dwarf age, where their densities and mass may have changed.
Rank/Type O stars are known as Royal Stars, each of them being a direct descendant of the First Star since they formed from the First Star’s nova remnant. Includes the rulers and their family. Frequently in control of Time and Space based powers. Azaziel is concidered a Type O star prior to his exile.
Rank/Type B stars are dukes and dutchesses, as well as their heirs. Focused mostly in warping powers, like teleportation and physcial warps.
Rank/Type A stars are known as the Priest Stars, in charge of overseeing the creation of Type B and O stars as well as religious events. Focuses mostly in advanced Light-based abilities, such as bending light to create illusions.
Rank/Type F stars are the highest of the middle class, often commissioning Type K stars for art and architecture. Their powers are mostly centered around plants and plantlife, though the destructive abilities start showing up here.
Rank/Type G stars are the lowest of the middle class, though they make up of the majority of the celestial army. Those in the army are provided “artificial” powers, granting them more than one power. Their powers are mostly barrier creation, being more on the defensive end of the fight, though Psionic powers show up here and can be used offensively.
Rank/Type K stars are mostly artisans, though some are in different professions and the like. They always make sure the other ranks are tended to, providing all ranks help if they can be repaid somehow. Those that don’t pick up the artist path may work as healthcare providers or garden tenders for Type O’s. They have material manipulation, allowing them to manipulate metal, fiber, or the elements.
Rank/Type M stars are the common rank, but they are focused in knowledge and the recording of said knowledge. They don’t manipulate anything, but if they gain the affinity for a power, it is likely going to be the manipulation over the periodic table of elements - meaning they could strip a star of their hydrogen and take it for themselves, though this practice is outlawed. Some of the oldest stars (even back when the First Star was around) reside here.
Rank/Type L stars. Where do I begin? These stars are the exile stars, though they still have their powers and abilities from prior to their exile. They’re more likely to be picked off by Black Holes.
How does a star gain a higher rank? Well, they must have gotten a LOT of mass and has brightened up their eyes to the rank they seek to be, unless they are white dwarf stars - in that case they are assigned Rank A automatically. No star can rank up to Rank O, unfortunately. If a star is rank L, they can never return unless their exile is pardoned by a Rank O, but even then the Rank O must listen to the people for their pardon. The only exception is the current Rank O ruler, who, despite orders from the other stars, has not pardoned Azaziel.
A star gains their power upon entering their main sequence age.
I’m weak and kept him
