I know a lot of people don't like how Spencer's addiction was handled (which, yeah) but I have to say i really really like that they didn't drop it entirely and instead dropped more references to it throughout the show even after season 2
#the references that come to my mind are:#the flashbacks he has in prison to Tobias Hankel and the part where he injects him with the dilaudid#the scene where he says something along the lines of ''it's almost impossible for them to stop without help'' and then looks away as he's+#stared at#the comment he makes in season 8 when he's trying to talk an unsub down and makes a comment about how he understands the ''urges''#there's more i know there's more but my brain is goop and i can't remember them#but yeah tl;dr i *really* like that the addiction he had continued to be brought up again even after he'd gotten clean#and weren't just like ''well he's clean now no reason to bring it up ever again'' as though that case wasn't a largely significant amount+#of his trauma#dare I say his second biggest trauma compared to the trauma he has from being neglected as a child and being forced to take care of the+#house and schizophrenic mom alone until he turned 18#criminal minds#spencer reid
