Staretz : "From Lead To Gold", musique pour les grands

Staretz présente son album le plus abouti et sûrement le plus assumé… Ça joue désormais dans la cour des grands, plus que jamais !

Chaque mois a son OVNI tombé dans la boîte à lettres. C’est Staretz qui gagne cette fois. Pourtant, le groupe toulousain produit un rock très soft des plus classiques, nourri de blues, de pop, de rock sixties le tout enveloppé dans des arrangements sucrés. Rien de révolutionnaire, bien au contraire, mais le truc le plus agréable et facile à écouter qui soit. Même « Silver Snake », un des morceaux les plus enlevés est dans un écrin de douceur bienvenue.

Staretz cite Springsteen, Van Morrison, Mink De Ville (« St John’s Eve », « That »s Fine For Me »), Lou Reed (« Smell Of Fire »). De la musique adulte, posée, construite. Ce troisième album sent la maturité intelligente, la richesse artistique accumulée. Les fans des Rolling Stones se retrouveront là, comme ceux de James Brown (« From Lead To Gold », « Tchi Tchi Kokomo »). Un album désuet et terriblement charmeur. De ceux qui font bouger la tête et taper du pied sans en avoir l’air. Chapeau, vraiment.

'I am not thinking of asking him anything,' replied Silouan. 'I have no problems at the moment.' 'Then why are you coming?' 'Because you wanted me to.' 'Yes, but people go to see a staretz for the sake of edification.'

'I am subduing my will to yours, and that is of greater benefit to me than any advice from the Staretz.'"
