Cadets Saavik and Valeris training at Starfleet Academy in San Francisco, circa 2285. • Saavik and Valeris are two of my favourite minor characters. Originally Saavik was to be the traitor in ‘The Undiscovered Country’ but Gene Roddenberry was concerned how fans would react, and Kirstie Alley and Robin Curtis had both declined to return. • @senyorspock has created some beautiful works exploring these characters which are amongst my favourites of their work. This piece was inspired by them. 🖖

Episode 154 Cogenitor / Valiant. 

We continue Enterprise with the infamous third gender episode Cogenitor. This spawns quite a lot of speculative and deep discussions in the best tradition of Trek.  Over on DS9, we both are impressed with the Jake/Nog story aboard a Cadet ship Lord of the Flies style out on their own in the Dominion War. Cogenitor Ratings:  Bob 7.5, Eric 8. Valiant Ratings:  Bob 8, Eric 8.5.

Question: Do you think Archer’s reaction to Trip in the final scene was appropriate?
