Dear Lieutenant Scott,
Thank you for all that you have done for Charlie, and in turn, for me. You might not have been the best history student, but you have been by far the best person I have ever taught, and that is what is going to take you far in life.
I know things are looking grim now, but they will get better. I have faith in you. Should I get an opening for an engineer in my own ship, I will personally ask the admiralty to let me transfer you. It’s the least I can do to repay you.

immediately, i am going to gush about hoW GREAT your Scotty is, alright? because, tbh, i didn’t think i would ever be able to connect with a group so well in such a personified sense and i’m actually addicted to their brotherly love for one another. and there’s mistakes between them, but there’s also that profound connection they share to strive over them, learn from one another. your writing is unbelievably addicting and corresponds with my own as a jim, so it’s easy to reply and keep up a conversation, no matter how short, or long. i’m insanely glad to be a part of this group you’ve formulated, and although there’s been bumps in the road, i hope to continue aspiring towards the captain you need.

After class, Sandra pulled Scotty aside.
“Hello, Cadet Scott. I wanted to thank you again for helping with Charlie last week. She’s really taken with you- I haven’t seen her come out of her shell like that with anyone else. It’s... it’s really nice to see. She keeps wanting to see ‘Scotty! Scotty!’ again, but I’ve been telling her you’re busy with school.”
She pulled out a piece of paper with a drawing of two people that were obviously Charlie and Scotty holding hands. The quality was somewhere between stick figures and realistic. There were flowers, butterflies, bees, and hearts for a border.
“Charlie wanted me to give this to you as a thank you, though.”

She wasn´t sure how to start this conversation. But this was one of the days she felt down and sad and ever since she and Scotty had the conversation about their fathers, she felt like she could talk to him about it. Normally she would´ve just stayed in her quarters, listening to her mixtapes or read The Hobbit but talking about it had made her feel better. And she trusted Scotty. He was one of the closest people to her. The thing was...she didn´t really know how to start. Jaylah decided to bring him a cup of coffee and hopefully she would get there eventually. Once she was at the Engineering department she nudged his shoulder and held the cup with coffee up. In her other hand she had a hot chocolate for herself. “I made coffee, Montgomery Scotty...and hot chocolate.”
