In honor of recent StarFox news, today's upload is discussing Krystal, the character the franchise forgot.

i wonder why we always want to talk about the more controversial topics in fandoms. I know Starfox command is a controversial game and as someone who didn't play it but watched a video on it and several videos on starfox lore (and have only played less then half of 64 and nearly beat assault and watched my cousin play adventures)

the concept of Fox being like - kicks Krystal out of the team cause he doesn't want her to get hurt - is actually realistic in relationship ideas when you think about it.

talking about starfox cause it's the current fixation. CORRECT ME IF IM WRONG cause i've never played command but these are just my thoughts

i wont sit here and say it was handled with care but it comes from a place of love that he's trying to protect her that he kicks her out, i don't know what method he used but it came from a place of love to preserve and protect what he cares about. Lets also note that Fox has no blood family around and having a new girlfriend is something precious he wants to protect for as long as he can.

I don't know the specifics of their relationship or how long they'd been in it but i feel because Fox only met her when he saved her he "fell in love with her" outwardly because she is a fox and "beautiful" and their relationship was probably rushed into and they didn't really get to be friends to lovers more like strangers to acquaintances to teammates to lovers they both dont really know how to be with eachother and this the result of it.

You can tell a story about a relationship and neither know how to be in said relationship it's just the story implied that they SHOULD and WANT TO be together when in reality what we are seeing is two people who WANT to be in a relationship but don't know HOW to cause they are people who are still working on themselves and still learning but they don't wanna show us their character growth or character points cause it's a old game but if you were going to make that the focus you should have made it look and feel more realistic

after Fox apologized i had 0 qualm with Fox cause YES lets not forget he cause this but he apologized and i always take it from this MHA comic i read once where Hawks said something like "I can apologize all i want but if i don't know what i did and im just apologizing to apologize i can't mean it" despite Fox not even thinking what he should be apologizing for he still apologizes to Krystal in front of Leon and Panther like she ask him to, not only does he apologize but he begs. 2 times mind you.

I'm not saying that because he apologized that makes the situation right but he makes attempts to mend their relationship while she - HAVING THE RIGHT TO NOT FORGIVE HIM does not forgive him. im not saying i feel as though Krystal is in the right, me personally i felt that after Fox apologized Krystal was the one in the wrong here, she shouldn't take Fox back but don't be a jerk. She admits she joined Wolf to get back at him, that's the only reason, she wants him to hurt and be sad because she was hurt and sad.

I just feel like this concept can be salvaged as a story point. Exs can exist, Exs can be friends or never talk to eachother again. (i say this with 0 relationship experience) But using Wolf and Panther as a plot point for their relationship and arguments feels like weak writing. Krystal is doing all this and it honestly feels out of character and i don't even know her character that well.

I know she came from a feral tribe? i know she was on the dinosaur planet so i don't feel that she would act this way but at the same time maybe shes acting this way cause she has a high value on relationships and Fox doing that makes 0 since to her and she doesn't know what to do cause if you don't want him back why try to make him jealous? cause you want him back? nothing your doing is helping or working so i feel at this point yall should just not be together until you work out your problems cause Fox feels like he's ready to attempt to learn how to but she isn't ready for the relationship.

Been playing Star Fox Command on emu and tbh I think the biggest flaw of the game the more I think about are the missile chases and the time limit.

Other than that, I think I've come to a point where I can say the hate this game got was overblown, even if I was once a part of it, at least it's interesting.

Like yeah, the infamous endings– only 3 of them are that bad and at least it has something in its story worth talking about. I can't say the same for Zero.
