Serious question: Why do slugs die when they have salt put in them? Also, is that a real thing, or is it a myth?
They will indeed die when you put salt on them. As you know, slugs are already pretty moist ,so when you put salt on them, that changes the water potential on their skin. Water gets sucked out to compensate for the decreased solute potential, therefore, slug dies from dehydration. Did I mention I absolutely abhor slugs

Yeah so basically what happens is:A lot of your cells are going to start taking in a bunch of water because the balance of solutes (sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, etc.) is being thrown off by large volumes of water) and they’re going to swell and potentially lyse (burst).
