Sleep beneath the stars?

"Look, I'm just having a bad dream, that's all. " as she tried to denied his offering. "Crying and shaking heavily.. Doesn't seems like a bad dream to me. More like a nightmare." as he observed her. " I just want to talk about it NOT sharing bed with you! " as Raven could felt heat across her face.

"Are you afraid that i'm gonna making some sort of advance to you? " as his left eyebrow raised. "Well, every guy would-" as Raven try to elaborate her reason but quickly cut by Damian. "I'm not every guy Raven. I'm a son of batman. " as he proclaimed himself. "Which means..? " this time her left eyebrow raised.

"Which means that I'm not the type of guy who would take advantage on a helpless girl." he explained himself. "Me? Helpless you say? What am i, damsel in distress? " raven annoyed by his statement. " Well, you do look like you need... "

"No. "

"What? "

"I don't need it. " said raven as she turn around heading to the door.

"Wait! " said Damian as he grab her hand at the same time his other hand on her shoulder turning her face to him. The view makes him startled as he sees the ever calm Raven now has stream of tears rolling down her cheek.

" Raven, I. . I shouldn't have said that. " his voice become soften as well as his eyes. " Well, I don't blame you. Maybe I was not in my usual mood. " said Raven as she wipe her tears.

"Didn't i tell you before that i will not let anything to harm you. Not on my watch? " said damian as he rest both of his hand on her shoulder. Raven stunned as she see his fiery viridian green eyes staring at her as if he's staring her soul.

"uh, well... " as she look away trying to arranging her words in her head.

"Raven."

‎"Yeah? " as she look at him, his thumb caressed her cheek, the trail of her tears. "I know you've been afraid of losing yourself. " he said as he look into her eyes, her unearthen red purplish iris reflected his face.

"Me too." he sighed.

Raven surprised by his statement. The annoying self proclaimed brat said that he's afraid eventhough he keeps on telling others that he's not afraid of anything? Raven think that whatever he said maybe he's bluffing or trying to soothe her. But yet she tries to read his mind though.

‎"You are violating my mind." said Damian as he stared at her intensely. " What do you mean violating? " said Raven as her eyebrows knitted together. " I can feel you're reading my mind, Raven. Stop it." he ordered her. " Okay, fine. " as she rolled her eyes.

Damian then turn away and went to his desk, taking some things then to his bed taking his pillow and blanket. 'What the hell is he up to? ' Raven feeling curious with his action. But before she inquiry about his up coming plan, she asked " H-how do you know i was reading your mind? "

‎"There's twinkle in your eyes. "

‎"Twinkle? "

‎"Twinkle like stars, galaxy in your eyes. Which..reminds me..." as he put his stuff in his backpack. Then he face Raven with bag on his shoulder. " Let us sleep beneath the stars for nightmare therapy." he said. Raven was awed by his plan and yet she smiled. She never thought of sleeping beneath the stars. Might be interesting. " So...you coming? " he asked. Raven's smile grew widely.

"Of course."

On top of titans tower, Damian has laid down two thin matress and two pillow on the floor. Raven came from her portal bringing some snack and drink. "I thought you want to sleep? " said Damian as he look at Raven bringing some Chips and Oreos along with two glass of warm milk. " well, we should hang out abit before we fall asleep. Besides, this one is kinda new to me. " said Raven as she settled down the thing she brought nearby. Damian smirked as he heard her.

"So, any nostalgic feeling about sleeping beneath the stars, Damian? " as she sit besides Damian on her part of matress. "Well, kinda. After I completed difficult task given from my mother I was exhausted. I was too tired so, i decided to sleep on the spot with my blanket. Despite of being cold." he said as he put both of his hand beneath his head staring at the sky filled with floating twinkle lights and a streak of magenta nebula cloud across the view. "Cold? Where were you? " said Raven as she tilted her head. " Climbing mountain with my broken wrist. When I was four. All alone. " he spilled out as he continue to stare at the celestial map above.

Suddenly he hear a silent sob besides him. As he turn his face to Raven again his heart felt heavy when he seen her cry, again. " Raven, what's the matter?" he spoken softly. "uh, Nothing. I was...astounding with your achievement yet i was sad because you have to deal it alone." said Raven as she hug both of her knees putting her head on them. "Well, how about you , Raven? Aren't you the one who escape from hell? " he asked her. " That's make both of us even right? " as Raven peek at him as she still place her head on her knees. Damian chuckled then watch the stars. "You see, i kinda envy at you." he said. 'Envy? Damian is envy at me? What? ' her mind was working try find the meaning behind his unusual statement. " Envy? At me? Why? " she straight up her leg and lean a bit to Damian's matress. " Because... " and he facing her with his arm stands support his body as he lean towards Raven.

Silent filled up the moment as both of them locked their eyes together. Raven felt uneasiness as the staring getting longer than a minute. "Because I'm good at staring contest? " some random fact came out from Raven's mouth made Damian laugh, well, deep laugh. " I would like to challenge the staring contest because you have that amazing eyes. " said Damian. "And look, i can see it twinkle again, you try to read my mind again, Raven?"

"No! You told me not to. " said Raven as she also turn away her face, hiding the shade of crimson on her cheek. "I should focus on your eyes everytime I have the chance. " Damian commented as he still locked his gaze on her. "You're joking right? " said Raven as she still keep her face away from him. "Look into my eyes, do I look like I'm bluffing? " Damian dared Raven. She turn to Damian. He smiled as she went into his trap.

"So?"

" Yet I can see your mischievous smile on your lips. " her eyebrow knitted together. "Of course. Feasting my eyes looking at what I love. " He said. "Your mesmerizing eyes. " he added. "M-maybe we should sleep then. " Raven quickly shove herself in the blanket and facing opposite from Damian. Damian chuckled as he seen her reaction. New and entertaining. "You said that you're not type of guy who would take advantage of a helpless girl. " said Raven as close her eyes so hard trying to sleep. " Well, you the one who said that you're NOT the damsel in distress aka the helpless girl? " he replied. " Shit. " she whispers under her breath.
