i’ve struggled for a long time to confront my own aroace-ness. because there is a part of me that does want to date, but i can never seem to picture myself in a proper romantic relationship, at least not by any conventional standard. and then i wonder, could i be happy if i never have a partner? would people view me differently if i never have someone i can confidentially call a girlfriend or wife? will i always just be left out by people who do have that kind of love? or expected to bend over backwards for them?i haven’t really tried to unpack these feelings, and now here i am, seeing edits and art and analysis of ryland grace, depicting him as aroace; and i think, oh. that’s exactly how i feel

i think people who like project hail mary or space films in general should watch gattaca. the space part takes a bit of a back seat but it’s defiantly a through-line and the film is so, so beautiful
