SolRook fic when where Solas succeeds at tearing open the Veil and he is elated, thinking he can finally show Rook the world as it was meant to be, only to turn and watch as the fallout from the Veil blasts through Rook and kills them right in front of Solas? He succeeded only to watch the one person he wanted to see the future with die and he has to hold their broken body and weep.

OH inexperienced/virgin Rook being guided by Solas during their first time with their romanced partner. Solas whispering into Rook's mind exactly where to put their hands and how to touch their partner, and then offering praise when Rook does a good job. Rook is so distracted by Solas' smooth voice in their ear that they miss something their partner says and has to stumble over their words trying to cover up what has them so far away.

Silly AU but Fen'harel as the dragon giant wolf guarding the tower where the pretty prince Rook is being held captive by the evanuris for idk something probably pissing Elgar'nan off. And Solas is just supposed to keep watch and not interact with their prisoner but it's very boring and they end up bonding and falling in love
I think it's fun to think about SolRook getting together during the game because of how it inevitably still leads to the betrayal of Solas swapping places with Rook. Falling in love would change some of their interactions, but not that. Solas might be forced to add additional ways he justifies it in his mind, but he will still trap Rook there. He still has his plan to tear down the veil, still needs to defeat Elgar'nan and believes Rook and friends incapable of it. A romanced Solas would convince himself that he's keeping Rook safe and out of the way by not letting them needlessly throw away their life fighting an opponent they cannot defeat. Maybe romanced Solas would convince himself that after he tears down the veil, he'll come back for Rook and get to show them the world "restored".
