Smaug stood in his human form his lips tightly pursed. He had no idea why he had agreed to come to Rivendell. His jaw was tense and his eyes narrowed. Lord Elrond had promised him jewels, gold, food and shelter. It was more than was offered to him by The Lord of Mordor. That man had offered him nothing but pain and hurt. His gold has been taken from him and melted. His once secret and comfortable home ruined. All because he wanted the legendary dragon working on arial attacks and even annoyingly enough working on the forges. Smaug through off the memory and then moved to where he could see Elrond speaking to Gandalf. He could also smell dwarves, men and elves. Under that scent was Hobbit. The scent of the thief. "Wonderful..." Smaug sighed. He walked over to Elrond so that he could speak with him. His left wrist had an intricate gold bracelet and that was all he wore of his hoard. It was a comfort thing. "My apologies for interrupting Lord Elrond, when are we to start? I grow restless and the company you keep is less than desirable" Smaug indicated not afraid to tell anyone how he felt. The wizard looked at him strangely. However he didn't comment on Smaug or his appearance. Smaug's attention was caught when he got the scent of gold and rare jewels. The dwarves. They didn't deserve any treasure any amount of gold off silver at all. They were greedy, even more so than himself. A few elves approached Elrond as did a few other members of what would make up this council. Clearly none of them had been told of his arrival here or what he would be doing. Smaug doubted Elrond would go into the details of what it took to get him to come to them rather than sulking in his cave and causing mayhem for both sides. It was fortunate really. "I thought we had a representative for the world of men?" The one known as Borimir asked eyeing Smaug. He had the grace and beauty of the elves but lacked the pointy ears. The dwarves around him made Smaug want to change his form and then lay waste to the elvish citadel. "He is no man Borimir son of Denethor, nor is he an elf" Gandalf said helpfully. "Then who is the laddie?" Gimli asked. He was stood near the race of thieves and Legos of Mirkwood. "I am the dragon Smaug master Gimli son of Glóin. Your father laid waist to my home and my hoard. Had they left me in peace I would have slumbered on in peace" Smaug told the dwarf. Gimli took out his ask and swung it towards Smaug who moved away with ease. Legolas looked shocked. Never had he thought that an alliance with a greedy dragon would be needed. Least of all one who had attacked Lake Town, Mirkwood and had laid waste to the city of Dale. "Smaug?" A small voice asked. The dragon turned to eye a much older Bilbo Baggins. He still smelled the same but he no longer carried that delicious ring but it was here. Somewhere close. "Barrel rider, lovely to see you once more. My apologies for any harm I caused. I'm a reformed character" Smaug said. He wasn't wrong. He was still greedy and demanded hoards of treasure but he didn't attack anyone and he had not laid waste to any part of Middle Earth. "Well, isn't that nice to hear. Though a little too late old friend" Bilbo said shuffling off with a few elves. Smaug smiled. He then was hit across the head with a hammer from one of the dwarves. "That'll teach you to take our mountain!" One said. Smaug looked at Elrond. "I am on your side master dwarves. My claim on Erebor is no longer there. I have my own mountain far from any settlement" Smaug said. He then looked at Elrond. "I believe we should begin before they attempt to kill me" Smaug said dryly. He has the seat next to Borimir who looked uncomfortable. Even the elves looked tense. "I'd like to know why we have a dragon in our midst? What good does he serve?" Borimir asked as if Smaug wasn't as the side of him.
