“You aren’t ANYTHING I’ve felt in the force before.” Dagon spoke as he approached the smaller stranger. She was almost like a beacon for LIGHT. It disgusted him.But maybe, just maybe, that light could be corrupted.  That could be of an IMMENSE use for the Dark Side.

Finn stepped closer to Vega, closing the gap between them. He took her cheeks into his palms softly, looking her eyes. “I know you are, my love,” Finn spoke, his voice ever so soft. “But I can’t risk anything happening to you.” He told her. 

Vega truly was a miracle in this world. She had come from the Cosmic Force itself and was essentially a physical manifestation of the Force. And the fact that she had trusted him to know this and be with her was special on its own. The First Order and the Knights of Ren wanted her power, and he couldn’t let that happen. He thought it was best to keep her hidden from both sides because, in the end, absolute power corrupted absolutely.

“Until this war has ended and no one is hunting you, we have to live like this.” He explained to her. “I truly wish we didn’t have to and I would love more than anything to have a life with you. But you must be protected,” He caressed her cheeks gently with his thumbs. “Even if I have to draw my last breath doing so.”

WAS THE ANSWER not obvious? A Mandalorian’s life was one of service to his clan and family. Vega and the youngling’s life carried priority over all other facets of his existence. If he lost them, he wouldn’t deserve his beskar steel. His vibroblades had sliced through her pursuers and his Amban rifle had disintegrated storm troopers in the hope that they would find peace.

His fights were never meant for himself.  Dyn turned the pilot seat to face the young woman. In hyperspace, the white streaks of light reflected upon the metal. “That I won’t be enough in a fight.”  The modulator in his voice kept his words from carrying too much emotion, but he knew how much he already revealed. 

“That when the time comes I will fail you two.”

FISTS clenched tighter as they propped up his kneeling form against the dirt covered floor of the arena. The older teen had grown into a formidable prince. One he thought would make his father proud. He did not know MERCY. And with the desired teachings from his father, he had learned of an unexpected advantage that his son was force sensitive. It was added to his daily training regime to hone this new skill, the King thinking his son may not be NOTHING after all. Of course that thought would change as time went on, Kaiden believing his son to be worthless even with his connection to the force. Dagon wasn’t learning fast enough for his liking and with each training session the progress he DID show wasn’t enough. It was all building up this moment where Dagon took several breaths with his fists against the dirt floor, sweat dripping off his face and splashing against the hard surface. 

Something in him SNAPPED in that moment, feeling his father’s ever harsh gaze upon his back. Slowly his head rose, hazel eyes meeting his father’s cold blue ones. That was the last Dagon could remember, only coming back to reality as he knelt over his father’s now LIFELESS body. Confused, the prince turned to see the wake of destruction he caused as bodies lay on the ground with blaster marks in each chest while others lay under crushed rubble no doubt from the use of the force. His hands were shaking now as eyes moved back towards his father at his feet, looking up to find his mother horrified at what he’d done. Dagon TRIED to speak but no words came out and as he stood up to walk towards the Queen, she met him with a vibroknife pointed at his chest. She charged at him, no doubt trying to END the monster she and her husband created, but it was too late. Dagon easily dodged the attack and something once more took over for a brief moment, force choking her into dropping the blade as she gasped for air. Once he realized what he was doing, he ceased his action. 

Mother and son’s eyes met for one FINAL time before she turned and ran out of the palace. Queen Bri Varik was never to be seen again and soon her son would be crowned KING.

“What the hell are you staring at?” If he was cliche he’d use that bullshit ‘ take a picture, it lasts longer ‘ but it’s not as aggressive as just asking someone what the fuck they think they’re staring at. And yeah, perhaps she’s just staring off into space, but Billy’s in a bad mood already regardless of her intentions.
