Astoria can feel a pair of eyes on her, and she turns to see Celine, her face immediately widening into a smile.

Ruth messily scrawls in a notebook, switching between reading and writing. Her pencil chips, and she sharpens it again. Ruth is reading up on mechanics, welding, and repairs, trying to gather enough information about the topics so she can work on repairing all the damage Anti had caused to Vire.
Ruth refuses to sleep, not wanting to have her dreams invaded again.
"Ruth, you have to sleep. You'll end up passing out," Astoria tries to argue. Ruth shakes her head, staring at her older sister.
"No, I won't. I'll go until I pass out if I need to, but I can't sleep." Astoria sighs at her sister's defiance, looking at Celine for help.

Astoria smiles to herself as she hears Celine humming. She's unable to make out the melody, so she walks closer down the hallway.
Ruth has been watching her sister carefully, and as she rounds the corner the teenager immediately creeps out of her room, taking each step cautiously so she doesn't make a floorboard creak under her weight. Ruth makes her way down the hall, praying nobody sees her. She's planning to sneak out again. It's not fair that she has to be cooped up, unable to leave unless Astoria, Celine, or Wil are with her. Ruth should be able to make her own! She's not a fragile, helpless doll.
