It's like 1230 am, I just got off work and I'm sitting at home stoned watching the newest (ish) TMNT movie

Since the turtles are in new york and were conallegedly (can't remember if it's conical or not) ~created by the same chemicals that ~created daredevil, do you think the turtles and Peter Parker would be friends? And by extention, Miles Morales??

The Turtles would absolutely 100% be Spider-bros!

If you want to think about them in terms of "sharing" the same universe as Daredevil and Spider-Man (the Peter that tends to be the "core" Spider-Man), I would imagine they are younger than Peter, and during one of his bigger adventures that takes him out of the city, the Turtles started coming up from the sewers and stepping into their own hero roles... but they totally know who Spider-Man is! They've watched him on TV, and seen stories about him in the newspapers. Donnie and Mikey are probably his biggest fans, while Leo respects him as somebody who always tries to help (Raph complains, like- "He doesn't even LOOK like a SPIDER. If he's gonna call himself SPIDER-man, he should have extra limbs or eyes or SOMETHING"). I think it would be fun if, when Peter returns from some such-and-such "research trip" for work, he comes back and meets April first, they get along pretty well, BUT THEN! Some bad guys attack, and there is this amusing push-and-pull of Peter trying to slip away to go be Spidey, but April thinks she NEEDS to protect her new reporter friend, he's just a regular nerd, he can't defend himself. They finally get out in the streets somewhere, go down into the sewers, and just as Peter is working out how to explain the spider mask in his backpack, April goes- "Peter, I don't want you to freak out, but... I've got some friends who can help us. They look pretty different, but they can help us. They're heroes", and she calls in her Turtle buds! Peter is like... this is what it's like being rescued??? So they befriend Peter without realizing who he is. He tells them eventually, fair is fair, so now they all get so excited! They are friends with SPIDER-MAN! Donnie wants to figure out how his powers work, Leo vibes with the whole "I AM RESPONSIBLE AND STRESSED OUT" energy (so they have chill time together), Mikey already wants to make his own spider-themed side-kick outfit so they can do her stuff together (Peter makes Mikey's day when he asks for a turtle-themed version for himself, so either way, they match), and Raph has fun doing wild web-stunts (it is a lot easier to jump off buildings when your friends has a portable safety net). Peter is kind of amazed that these guys have to basically live on the outskirts of society, but they're pretty resourceful and thrifty, so they actually have more money saved than he does (they always share food, which means he loves them). Also, I'd like to think MJ and Casey just kind of automatically get along. She isn't just a pretty face, she likes going to motorcycle races and Casey enjoys a lot of vintage movies, so they hang out and have fun~

If you want to put them into the Spider-Verse... I'd imagine that some scientist inevitably starts trying to use samples of the Ooze, and maybe even the Turtles DNA to try and make their own versions of mutated animals, and just by accident, they hit on something that aligns with the spiders connected to ALL the ones who cause the various heroes connected to Spider-Man. The Turtles arrive at the lab to try and stop the bad experiments and such, but because of somebody ELSE messing around with dimensions, anything even vaguely similar to THIS universe's version of Spider-Man gets pulled into a portal! In this situation, that means Leo, Raph, Donnie, and Mikey. Initially, they get split-up, and don't all go to the same place... but every dimensions is a variation of New York, and they meet up with other heroes there who can at least recognize a fellow odd-ball who needs help. They may not have a spidey-sense or web powers, but hey- they're ninjas! They're mutant turtles! That's pretty cool. If I had to pick other spider-heroes for them to meet, I'd actually go with; Leo meets Gwen (they get along, both being tenacious but level-headed), Donnie meets Pavitr (they are both geniuses, but have a similar sense of humor, just kind of casually making each other laugh and have a good flow of conversation), Mikey meets Hobie (and Mikey thinks he is SOOOOO cool, this is the most awesome dude EVER), and Raph meets Miles (they would argue at first, because Raph has a short fuse and he'll push people's buttons until they're both annoyed... but the first thing they realize they have in common; no matter how upset they might feel, they never hesitate to help somebody. Raph and Miles both rescue each other, and ironically, start to think to themselves- "This dude is probably having a hard time. I should help him out", and decide to be more encouraging. each one thinks he's like a mentor to the other, and they wind up talking about their feelings more openly than they would have if somebody had just asked; Raph feeling like he's not as impressive as his bros, Miles worrying about letting down the people in his life and missing his uncle). Once they all get together, they naturally make friends with each other, but I think Miles in particular would be naturally friends with all the Turtles! Aside from being an impressive hero, they all just like him because he's another teenager their age, and they just have fun~

Watching more new(ish) TMNT (2023) and have decided to add on to my headcanon/au that the turtles and spiderman are friends:

April being around the same age as the turtles also puts her in high school. This allows her to also be apart of the school newspaper, where she meets Peter (year book and newspaper share the same room (budget cuts or whatever the school decides this year)) and they become excellent friends. Eventually, April is like, "I got some friends I think you'd get along with" and decides on a whim to introduce Peter to the boys. She's kinda nervous at first, but that quickly goes away when Peter, excitedly exclaims "yooo, I know them from work! Theyre great!" And after, they get introduced to Miles, too and have mad cookouts.

Heck yeah, this would be awesome! I like the idea that April figures out Peter's whole deal being Spider-Man, and knows he might be defensive about admitting that... so obviously, they best way to show she can keep super secrets is to introduce him to her buddies, who are teenagers, mutants, ninjas, and turtles- all at once! Not only does this help him trust April, but hey; he's also buddies with these guys as Spider-Man! Soon the whole Spider-group and TMNT group can hang out (also, I bet Miles would introduce the Turtle boys to the idea of going to conventions and pretending to wear "costumes" so they can just chill in public~). If this is the Gwen who's in the band, she'd get the Turtle boys to be like, collaborators (they don't do public performances unless they have time to dress up in something that would pass as a gimmick, like at a rave or whatever, but they write a few songs, add music, do mixes, etc). Splinter and Aunt May are pen-pals, also. They trade recipes and complain affectionately about kids these days~

Also, is it ever discussed how the turtles age? Or are they just perpetually teenagers?

Like... it depends on which version??? Usually, most of the movies/shows with them take place with them being somewhere between 15-18. A lot of them comics follow them actually growing up, being in their 20s and 30s (the stories are still called "TMNT", because "Adult Mutant Ninja Turtles" just isn't as catchy haha). I remember in the 2003 series, we saw a potential future in the episode "Same As It Never Was", and I think they were like... 40-something? It was also really UNPLEASANT (Donatello was either missing or just plain dead, and everybody else was extra angsty). I've seen a few stories in which their mutation was changed/amplified in some way, which altered how their bodies aged (and also sometimes turned them into monsters or whatever). Occasionally, magic will be involved (because they meet various mystical characters, and get powers), so that can also change their life-spans. Mostly, the general deal is; they became more human-like after mutating, so they age like humans, the stories just usually center on them being teens, and the title doesn't change (because who wants to re-brand TMNT pfff)
