The other page I had done of their first proper meeting in the mer AU! I was wondering if I wanted to commit to doing all the shading and lighting on this comic since I did the first page that way, but it would be kind of relevant to the excerpt, so... I guess I'm buckling down for several pages of this! 😅 It may take me a bit to get through tho.

I think initially Bobby has a lot of language that kind of reveres Pietro as more of a deity than an person, and it would make Pietro visibly uncomfortable. While he loves praise and would eat it up at first, he'd start to wonder if Bobby is even seeing him as a person when he's trying to flirt with him and see him as an equal, while to Bobby, Pietro at first is something so incomprehensible and amazing to him that he doesn't think he could think of him that way (tho he is also crushing hard) And tbh, he's not too far off thinking Pietro is like a god when his daddy is basically Poseidon (tho he doesn't know that yet). Pietro just wouldn't want to view himself that way and wishes to connect with others, which is already difficult for him with the giant thing.

They'll get to talk it out tho, don't worry.

Every time I see something that reminds me that they’re making a new Animorph show, I pray that they aren’t going to fuck it up by making it live action again. It needs to be a cartoon, there is no other way.

No, I don’t care if the budget is bigger. No, I don’t care if they just make everything CGI and Tobias doesn’t have leads on his legs again. Make it a cartoon. That way, the Animorph’s look exactly the way they’re supposed to and it’s not limited by the actors appearances.

It will be cheaper. The kids aren’t going to grow up. They’re going to actually look like kids because they will be animated. It will be the way it should’ve been the first time.

(with animation, you can draw the characters either accurate to the descriptions, or make redesigns/adjustments in some regards, you can hire VAs who play the characters best/don't have to worry about how old they are because plenty of adults VAs can do younger voices, all the dangerous/intense scenes or stunts won't be limited by safety regulations or practical/special effect availability, everything will visually match... I really wish more book-inspired stories would go for making animated series, instead of live-action shows/movies. Animorphs would be awesome, and I'd love a Narnia show too!)

Happy pride to those who feel unseen. My name is Bre and I'm a black bi , nonbinary creator. Sometimes I feel unseen.... Sometimes I feel not queer enough. I made a story about Black folks and their queer identity , validity of it in different ways and doing what I can to show Black people deserve to be in diverse fantasy stories and loved .
