And oh boy did you pick a quality ship for me~~ Thank you!

When I started to ship it:

It was slow and gradual. TF Prime was the first Transformers series that I saw and I fell for the franchise hard and fast, but on my first watching I was still taking in the whole world and characters as individuals. At first I didn’t particularly ship anyone, but by the time I got to the third season and I had a firm grasp of the universe and the characters I became very charmed by the funny, dysfunctional dynamic Knockout and Starscream have. The episode Thirst especially won me over, and I started thinking there could be something more to their dynamic.

my thoughts:

I love their dynamic. It’s a dysfunctional, strange and kind of ridiculous push-and-pull thing. They are a weird, strangely electric disaster, and content about them can be as silly or as serious as you want.Starscream is a moody bag of issues, a mix of ambition and narcissism, crippling self-doubt and self-destructive behavior, plus I headcanon him widowed.

Knockout is confident and flirting and romance come easily for him, but he’s amoral and very aloof, someone who doesn’t play Starscream’s games. He is a good match for Starscream, but then again he isn’t really interested in fixing him or really dealing with his several issues. I think Knockout is mostly physically attracted to Starscream plus he enjoys his company and chatter, but Starscream would need more formal and clear courting and the security of commitment. 

They are attracted to each other and their friendship is casual and easy, but their romantic wants and needs are so mismatched they end up in a weird push-and-pull situation.

 What makes me happy about them: 

They will eventually encourage each other to grow into better versions of themselves. They are silly and have an infinite potential for stupid drama that is a delight. They are very dysfunctional and their relationship is like sailing on a boat that has a hole in the bottom: You have to fix it while you sail.

They are not epic. Their problems are more relatable, every-day things. 

Also they are both very sexy. Even if everything crashes and burns, damn if they don’t look good together. 

What makes me sad about them:

They have a potential to be just one really awful, horrible disaster that leaves them both bitter and heartbroken. Their relationship could also turn into a very unhealthy thing, and especially Starscream has a potential to become emotionally abusive.

Things done in art/fic that annoys me:

Meaningless threesomes and making their thing into polyamory, usually involving Breakdown. Poly-ships aren’t my thing, and I feel that often Starscream just ends up as a sexy third wheel in Knockout/Breakdown.

Things I look for in art/fic:

Drama, dysfunctional dynamic and handling their many, many psychological issues. Learning to love each other. And I won’t say no to their unapologetic combined sex appeal. :D

Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:

I don’t really ship either one to anyone else (at least not as end-game), but I don’t have anything against other ships about them so whatever.

My happily ever after for them:

Their weird on-off/push-and-pull thing finally reaches the point where they talk about their true feelings and start to really understand the other and themselves and why they can’t seem to move anywhere. They start communicating better and manage to commit to a mutually satisfying arrangement where they can trust each other.

What is their favorite non-sexual activity?

Being lazy, gossip and fancy treats.

A/N: :DD  This is gonna be fun! As they always are. I love their dynamic with confident, flirty and witty Knockout and prim and proper and stuck-up Starscream.

* There were many reasons why seekers tended to stick to their own, and the longer Starscream associated with Knockout the list kept growing. 

It wasn't that Starscream absolutely needed someone else, but keeping his finish as perfect as he liked had been considerably easier with his Trine around helping him. He could wax almost everywhere by himself but reaching his back and especially his wings was a difficult task, and giving up on his spotless exterior was not an option. 

Perfection was what Starscream was striving for and also willing to sacrifice certain things in order to achieve, but still he had a feeling that he should have declined when Knockout offered his help. “Do you need help with that?” was an innocent enough question but not one Starscream had expected to hear while he was bathing, especially not when he had thought he was bathing alone. When he turned around on the edge of the shallow bathing pool there was Knockout, leaning against the wall and looking like he had been there for a while too. “What are you doing here?” Starscream snapped at the grounder even though it was pretty obvious what another officer would be doing in the officers' bathing quarters. Knockout must have realized that much since he simply shrugged, skipping the question altogether. “That looks difficult,” he said instead. Starscream didn't respond, turning the washcloth over in his servos. He had been maneuvering and twisting and turning while cleaning his wings, and he didn't need anyone to tell him it looked difficult; it was. “Do you need help?” Knockout asked again with a smile. “We could make it a trade, I'll help you and you'll help me in return.” Starscream regarded the other with cold optics. He didn't like Knockout's smirk one bit nor did he appreciate his tone, all sultry and suggestive since apparently he didn't know any other ways to talk, but all that aside the offer was tempting. What could go wrong? “Very well then,” Starscream agreed and gestured at a place next to him by the pool, and Knockout happily strode to him and sat down. Knockout was carrying a small metal basket with cleaning solutions, cloths and wax in it and set it down by the pool on his side, taking his time getting comfortable there. The pool was filled with steaming liquid, a luxury rarely provided aboard the ship, and Knockout let his other pede slip into the pool. He threw his washcloth on his shoulder, picked out one of the bottles from his basket and finally turned to Starscream. “Now, how can I help you?” The question was once again obvious and Starscream gave the other a sharp look for that, and without a comment thrust his washcloth to his chassis. “Reaching the backs of my wings is the only help I need, thank you.” Knockout accepted the cloth with a smile so grateful one could have thought this was a great privilege, but there was a worrying glimmer of mischief in his optics too. “I see. Then please turn around, will you?” he suggested. Starscream narrowed his optics at him and shifted around on his place a bit, presenting his back to the other even though it made the back of his neck tingle. He could feel Knockout's wandering gaze on his plating and kept peering at him over his shoulder the best he could. “I'm sorry if you find this awkward,” Knockout said as he lay his servos on Starscream's back. “But sometimes one has to be flexible for the sake of beauty. And beauty is something you very clearly value.” Starscream rolled his optics at the blunt comment and left it unacknowledged. He had known Knockout long enough to have noticed that flirting at him amused the grounder greatly, and Starscream wasn't going to give the other the pleasure of getting to him. “Basic hygiene is hardly about suffering for beauty,” he scoffed. Knockout hummed a laugh, a soft, warm and no doubt fake sound. “So all of this is what nature gave you? Count me impressed,” he said as he ran his servos down the seeker's spinal strut from the base of his neck all the way to the hipplate. Starscream huffed. “Exposure to the elements helps. Wind and rain can do wonders, for example.” “I see. Rain I know too, even if out of the two of us you get wet first when it comes down,” Knockout noted, moving onto the wings. Starscream clicked his glossa at the comment but didn't think it further because Knockout was actually doing really good work on his wings. He had expected the grounder to just wipe them like a tabletop and maybe swipe some wax there, but instead he was getting a pleasantly patient treatment. Knockout had started from the base and was rubbing slow, firm circles into the plating, pressing down with both of his servos and slowly moving upwards. There was no rush and no needless deviating from the pattern, only strong pressure through the smooth cloth. “Enjoying yourself, Commander?” Knockout asked and Starscream was shaken awake from the pleasant trance he had started to sink in. “This is satisfactory,” Starscream hurried to reply, and Knockout chuckled at him. “Go ahead and enjoy, don't mind me,” Knockout encouraged him and switched his swirling moves into firm kneading. “Trust me, I'm a professional. I took an extra course on physiotherapy back in academia.” “Mm-hm,” was all Starscream could muster up in response. He didn't really want to chat, he wanted to enjoy the massage and the hot steam that were allowing him to release tension and pressure he hadn't even realized he was holding in. Even if Knockout was probably insufferably pleased with himself. “You feel tense,” the doctor commented when he switched from one wing to the other and started from the base joints again. “You really should bathe with me more often, I could help you with this.” Starscream huffed a dry chuckle at that. “Don't get too smug now, doctor. You'll end up asking for in return something you'll never get.” “I've heard many nevers before,” Knockout replied almost directly into Starscream's audio receptor, “they often turn out to be less absolute than they let on. I do give great massages.” Starscream gave him a doubtful look before pointedly turning his helm away. “You're going to need quite a few of those before you get to ask for anything that you're probably thinking.” “Why Commander, that sounds awfully lot like an invitation,” Knockout chuckled. Starscream scoffed. “Well, one must suffer for beauty. I suffer you right now.” “You wound me, Commander,” Knockout said with a gleeful tone. “But misery loves company.” “So it does. Might as well be you,” Starscream agreed while he stretched his joints and rolled his shoulders. He hated to admit it but he did feel better than in ages. “At least as long as you keep it classy, my dear doctor.” “I wouldn't even think of anything else.”

Who takes the most pride in their appearance (I.E Who likes getting buffed by their partner, and who likes getting their paint retouched?)

Do I even have to answer this? KO of course! But it’s worth noting that even seekers can be vain and KO takes as much joy in making Starscream pretty as he does in making himself look good.

When they go to Swerve’s, where do your OTP sit and what do they drink?

Knock Out would rather be front and center, but Starscream would rather be with his back to a wall. Knock Out relents and sits in a corner with Starscream. As for drinks, Starscream prefers sweets but he would never admit it so Knock Out usually ‘accidentally’ orders something that’s too sweet for him and asks Starscream to switch. I see Knock Out as drinking something milder.

What Earthling TV (or film) series would they watch together?

Casual headcanon that they both love Star Trek. However, Starscream has a terrible paranoia of the Borg. Knock Out tells him that they’re not real, and Starscream just narrows his eyes at him and whispers ‘but how can you know for sure’.

When exploring strange new alien worlds, what is their favourite activity?

Knock Out loves to test out new terrain and speed along. It’s a lot of fun for him to see how fast he can go, and it’s more fun when he convinces Starscream to help him wash up after. As for Starscream - geology. He misses taking samples and scanning mountains and things. What a nerd.

Who is more likely to carry the other home, either because of High Grade consumption or overworking, and how much of a struggle is it?

Knock Out seems one to indulge a bit more. Starscream has a tough time dragging him. Not because of their size, but because Knock Out just can’t keep his hands off of Starscream’s wings.

Who stays up late reading?

Starscream does his best reading late at night. You know how many times Knock Out wakes up and sees Starscream with a datapad covering his face because he fell asleep reading? So many times.

Who apologises first after an argument and how do they do it?

Knock Out. Despite his pride, he knows when he’s wronged Starscream. After a cool down period of a few hours (or days, depending), Knock Out usually pulls Starscream down for a deep cleaning and apologizes. Starscream can accept it well enough, and Knock Out does nice things with his hands to calm him. Then their conversation can continue like grown adults.

Are they Conjux Endura, if so - how did A propose to B?

I HOPE THEY ARE SOMEDAY. And I have this thing about Starscream’s partner proposing right when he’s about to so - Knock Out proposing right inside their house and Starscream like ‘....No, what, no I was going to propose to you tonight!’ and Knock Out laughing and asking ‘is that a yes, then?’

Who was almost a Decepticon/Autobot (Who found it difficult to choose a side) and how do they still convey their rebel spirit?

Kind of a weird question for them since they were both cons. Buuuuuut. Starscream would go neutral to be with Knock Out. But he’d never be an autobot!

(Even despite size difference) Who is the Big Spoon?

Starscream always little spoon. Knock Out loves curling up between Starscream’s wings.

But that aside - I was kind of expecting an alternate us and was really excited about talking with another Star and me who were also in relationship since that has almost happened only once.
