I'm sitting here forcing myself to listen to my local city council meeting broadcast on facebook reminding myself and others, that if you want to be more active in politics and public good
LEARN TO BE OK WITH BEING BORD
this stuff is boring as all hell, but it is still unspeakably important.
if I didn't force myself to use my precious day off to listen to this I wouldnt know about the debate about making exceptions to the local "no public trade of needles in the local parks" for intramuscular narcan needles for overdoses vs sticking with the nasal application
I wouldn't know that the on going efforts to fund extended parking space in the downtown area is in a deficit and the plans to gap that deficit with higher on street parking fees and possibly trading out all of the meters for new meters that work second hand with some App and the council woman that made the good ass point about "Hey if we wanted to back out of this deal do we get to keep these new meters or does this app own them now?" And also how the heck does this effect the people working downtown that have to park on the street?
politics in general tends to be boring, I want to switch to some youtube channel so bad, but I owe it to the people who's life could be saved by narcan, and the people who work downtown (small as it is) to listen and be as informed as I can, and if you want to really help your fellow people and know what the heck is going on in your town then LEARN TO BE BORD
