Hello hello! Long post so it’s under a cut.
Here’s two completely unrelated photos of my Melody pillow. I had to drown (wash) her the other day.
My on/off passion with little houseplants is in its ON! phase. Been learning about different DIY soil mixes; currently through the gruelling process of repotting a bunch of my existing plants into more appropriate soil and trying to figure out which spot in the house gets them the right amount of light/humidity so they can thrive instead of just survive.

I found out pothos leaves can get giant once they hit “maturity” if you let them climb, and I wanna see if I can do that! Ngl I’m historically bad with moss poles because you have to keep them moist. Apparently the D shape ones don’t dry as fast so I’m trying them out :))
Not super related: I wanted to get an orchid as a housewarming present for myself last year, but... I've never managed to successfully keep one alive haha. I think I understand their soil and light needs better now (I joined the r/orchids sub lol) but they’re so different to the other plants I keep, I’m very intimidated. I want to be a bit more confident before committing to buying one. Working on it!
I learned how to do embroidery late last year. It’s a nice fiddly activity that doesn't take too much mental energy which is right up my alley.
Unfortunately my neck and shoulder hurts if I sit for long periods, so it does take me ages to finish. Often I end up just walking around while working so it hurts less, but it’s hard to do embroidery when moving around LOL. Slows down the process but it’s been enjoyable to stitch as I watch shows in the background :))
I'm in that dreaded space between TV shows right now. Was on a crime/mystery kick for a few months but it's worn off </3. I’m sort of watching Fargo. You could say I’m on season 3 but I probably missed 60% of season 2. Each season is standalone so it doesn’t really matter that much I guess lol.
I've been watching the 9 available eps of DMV on repeat when I can't find anything satisfying to watch. It's a comedy about working at the DMV lol. Has very similar vibes to Superstore which is my all-time favourite comedy series.
I wanna watch Heated Rivalry but I'm in that airy headspace where I'm not being able to focus on a show/film properly and I don't want my first foray into it to be like thisssss so I'm gonna wait until the time is right. Hopefully soon!!
Music-wise I’ve been listening to the album Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party by Hayley Williams on repeat. Hard to say if I have a favourite song. It’s one of those albums that works as a whole. Parachute breaks my heart the most tho (compliment).
Please listen to Kate Stables and Mina Tindle sing a version of "Started Again" (from This is the Kit's 2020 album Off Off On) translated into French. Though British in origin, Stables and her family live in Paris where friend Tindle is relatively well-known as a French folk artist. Tindle is married to Bryce Dessner, songwriter and guitarist for the band The National.
The setting in rural France, the song, the vocal talent all can only be described as idyllic. I had to listen to it three times in a row when I first heard it earlier this evening.
"Damn it, Amelia! I told you not to interfere!" James looked at Amelia as she snapped her head up.
"Then what was I supposed to do James?! Do you want me to leave?"
"I," James rubbed the back of his neck, "no. I never want you to leave."
"Yeah, you do, you know you do. Don't lie to me James, I don't deserve that." James hated it when Amelia looked at him like that, like she thought she meant nothing to him, while he meant everything to her. He loved her so much and if she felt like this, that was on him. "You don't want me around when Marina is here. If you really think I haven't noticed that then you either really underestimate me, or you're stupider than I thought."
"I don't want her around when I'm with you. I love you, Amie. I always have and I'm never going to stop." He grabbed her hand.
"I love you too." She kissed him, a little desperately, like she couldn't bear to lose him. He couldn't bear to lose her either, so he kissed her back. He knew that it was probably a mistake, that going back to this was never going to end well, but he did it anyway. He didn't know what else he could do.
