POKEMON XY SPOILERS UNDER READMORE!!!
woah wowow, i LOVE all three of the final starter evos! They really are their own pokemon with heir own themes, and really unepected. There's a transition from one pokemon to the next, sure, but theyre not SO direct as everyone was expecting. I'm gonna go over what I like (or dislike) about each one. Especially going over the differences between each pokemon in their respective lines.
First, we have Froakie's final evo, Greninja. This one was a shock a bit because of the lack of bubbles, and the long tongue wrapped around it's neck. But still very cool!
Froakie, itself, if a frog with bubbles around it, it reminded me of a little thief of sorts, and as it grew, the bubbles turned into a more.. streamlined shape? Froakie's first evo honestly didn't catch me very much, but the second one is great! It (unexpectedly) lost all the bubbles, and turned into a more ninja-like pokemon. An interesting transition, from little thief, to ninja!
Next is Delphox, Fennekins full evo. This one I REALLY like. It's very different than what people thought as well. People expected a broom-riding witch or magical-girl type witch evo, because that's where it looked like it was GOING. But then I realized something. We expect them to be a smooth transition, like bulbasaur into venusaur, but theyre NOT. We need to start expecting different things.
First, Fennekin is just a little fox, not a lot too it other than some psychic attacks. It's just the start.
Then, we have Braixen, who I assume you've seen if you're looking in here. We assumed braixen would evolve into a broom-riding magical-girl-like witch.. but that's the thing. braixen IS the broom witch! Thats THAT pokemon's theme! When it evolves into Delphox, it gets a similar, but NEW theme
Delphox itself, to me, looks more like an oracle, or a forest witch of sorts. The powerful kind of witch you see brewing potions and being wise. A long raggedy dress, it all tips me off to that. That is Delphox's new, more powerful theme! Like a mage-like witch, I think! I really like it because of that. How each evolution in the line has it's own feeling.
Then we have THIS THING. Chespins final evo! It pulls a similar trick like fennekin, having each evo sort of retain it's very own, unique theme. Chespin is a cute little pinny rodent, it's evo is a happy round chestnut with tough armor, and the final evo breaks out of that armor, in a sense. It looks like a strong warrior with tough spiked armor and a really cool design!
So basically I like all the evos. They're unexpected, new takes on the themes of the previous forms. Theyre creative and things we wouldn't have even thought of. If you don't like them, that's fine! But as for me, I really love how we weren't really able to guess exactly how they'd look in the end. Even reading clues from the middle forms didn't help us at all, and that's great!!
So yeah that's it, I think I am going to choose Fennekin since my sister wants chespin a lot (normally would be my choice haha). I want to name mine after an oracle at delphi. It's name had better be an ancient greek oracle reference.
