she sits, her head a dull ache and her mind a thousand miles away. things were not supposed to go this way. she was supposed to be safe, uninjured, and in a clean set of clothes. she was supposed to be calling her daughter -- her helena. adalia wonders how her daughter will react when she isn't at the airport in a few days time. she wonders if helena will think her mother's abandoned her yet again, if she'll blame herself for her mother's absence.
lost in thought, she's easily startled when leaves crunch in front of her. her eyes are wide when she lifts her head but her worry quickly melts away when she notices the person approaching doesn't appear to be a threat.
"christ, you didn't need to sneak up on me like that." then again, it was her fault for not paying attention. she runs her eyes over them, squinting slightly. "have we met already?"
