{♔} — Knocking. It was honestly the worst. Because what they want you to think is that it’s a friendly gesture to announce that someone has arrived and you have to politely invite them in. But how Lance saw it, It was some sort of UNWANTED company DEMANDING his attention when he quite frankly didn’t WANT to give it. Annoy, really.
The demon was sure his eye had already begun twitching as he made his way door the staircase to where the great cherry oaken doors stood. He was sure he had heard the rapping here. Giving himself a moment to prepare himself for this inconvenience. And then he opened the doors.
The sky was dreary, and spots of rain speckled the ground outside as the after effect of a downpour. The trees shook in the wind as a visible reminder that the storm wasn’t quite over. At first he didn’t notice anyone, pleasing to him of course. But then all of that hope slipped away when he laid eyes on the soaking wet figure a few feet away.
He didn’t say anything for a few moments. Then suddenly, he simply said ❝ No. ❞ and slammed the door before turning to make his way back up the stairs.
