THE PROPHECY
Ron Weasley x fem!Reader
— Y/n believes that Ron would never notice her and begins a relationship with Lee Jordan. Ron thinks the best option for Lee and Y/n to break up is to make Y/n jealous. His biggest mistake was picking Lavender out of all the girls to make Y/n jealous.
A/N: I think it's already obvious but this happens in the half-blood prince. Feel free to drop a comment if you liked it!
[masterlist]
Y/n didn't like Lavender. She never had. Sharing a room with her and her best friend Parvati was torture.
Her hatred for Lavender began in third year. Lavender and Parvati shared a strange obsession with Divination and seemed to praise all of Professor Trelawney's prophecies.
This obsession led Lavender and Parvati to spend their free time in Divination class talking to Professor Trelawney. These conversations were no mystery, especially since at dinner Lavender and Parvati always sat in front of Y/n and Hermione on purpose and began to tell them prophecies about themselves and the rest of their classmates at the table.
It seemed that Lavender had something against Y/n because everything Lavender said was to let her know that her life span was short and that her death would be during the summer of the following year.
In the fourth year, things got worse. Lavender went from making very abstract prophecies to approaching Y/n to remind her to make the most of that year because she was going to die that summer.
At the Yule Ball, Lavender confirmed that the exact date would be the 14th of July, and three weeks before the end of the school year, every morning before going down to breakfast, she reminded Y/n of the exact number of days until that date. It almost seemed as if Lavender wanted Y/n dead.
Now that they were in sixth year and the 14th of July of that year had already passed, Lavender continued to look at Y/n with pity.
Y/n was standing next to Harry, looking at the different sweets on display in one corner of Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.
"What do you think this sweet does?" asked Y/n, holding up a small, round, green sweet.
Harry looked at her and picked up a red sweet. "I don't know, but I know this one makes your tongue grow. That happened to my cousin." They both laughed and saw Ron approaching them.
"Your brothers' shop is impressive, Ron." Ron looked at Y/n and nodded.
"Yeah, I guess so. They tried to sell me this for 10 Galleons," Ron said outraged, pointing to the box in his hand.
"Have you seen Hermione?" Y/n asked him.
"Yeah, she's with Ginny where the love potion is." Y/n said goodbye to her friends and headed towards Hermione and Ginny.
Harry looked at Ron. His friend was still staring at Y/n as she made her way through the crowd in the shop.
Harry knew that Ron had liked Y/n for several years, but it wasn't until last year that he finally admitted it.
Harry also knew, because Hermione had told him, that Y/n liked Ron too. Unfortunately, Y/n was currently in a rather unstable relationship with Lee Jordan.
Their relationship seemed to be the favourite topic of conversation at Hogwarts since they decided to start dating at the end of last year. And Lavender was looking for answers more than ever, which is why she would be returning to Divination class that same year.
"What do you think will happen between Y/n and Lee this year?" Ron asked Harry without even looking him in the face.
Harry looked at Ron curiously. He could sense Ron's jealousy. "What do you want to happen between them?"
"For them to break up! Lee's just using her, and Y/n can't even stand him. Whenever Lee gets close to her, Y/n pulls away," Ron complained, finally looking at Harry.
Meanwhile, Y/n had reached Hermione and Ginny. Before she could greet them, she hid between her two friends so that Lee, who was talking to the Weasley twins, wouldn't see her.
"I saw Lavender over there at the fireworks with Parvati." Y/n didn't look at Hermione, but her expression changed completely, showing her displeasure. "They're still having Divination classes this year," Hermione continued. This time, Y/n did look up and put the bottle of Love Potion down on the table with more force than usual.
"I bet this year she'll tell me I'm going to die after Christmas," Y/n joked, looking at Hermione with a mocking smile.
Hermione didn't find the joke very funny. She looked at her friend with a frown and crossed her arms. ‘'Betting isn't right, Y/n. Last year you lost five Galleons to Fred and George."
"Two sickles that Lavender will tell you you're going to die this summer," Ginny interrupted. Y/n looked at her with a proud smile and shook her hand.
"You're on. I knew you wouldn't let me down, Weasley!" Y/n exclaimed proudly. Hermione rolled her eyes and looked back towards where the twins were, but she didn't see them. Instead, she saw Ron and Harry approaching them.
Y/n looked at the different types of love potions on display, paying no attention to her surroundings. Then her tranquillity was disturbed when she heard a high-pitched, melodious ‘Hello Ron!’ from Lavender.
Y/n focused her attention on Lavender, with a hardness in her gaze that could kill anyone within a five-kilometre radius. She squeezed the bottle of purple love potion she had just picked up and stared as Ron, somewhat confused, returned her greeting.
-------------------------------------------
It had been a month since their return to Hogwarts, and neither Lavender nor Parvati had approached Y/n to warn her of a possible death. However, Lavender seemed to be everywhere Y/n went.
Now the four of them (Hermione, Harry, Ron, and Y/n) were sitting at their table in the Great Hall, enjoying breakfast and the free hour they had before Potions class. During that free hour, Lavender went to Divination class, and later they met again in Potions.
Y/n was eating toast when an owl landed in front of her with a letter. She read the name of the person who had sent it and left it on the table.
Hermione looked at her confused. "Aren't you going to open it?"
"It's from Lee," she replied, continuing to eat her toast, downplaying its importance. Hermione understood instantly.
Lee had already graduated, but he insisted on seeing Y/n every weekend in Hogsmeade. That stressed Y/n out; Lee stressed her out. She had made it clear to him that while she was at Hogwarts, she would spend time with her friends, but Lee didn't seem to understand and kept sending her letters.
"Are you nervous about the Quidditch trials, Ron?" Y/n finished her toast and rested her elbows on the table. Ron looked at her, not quite sure how to respond. He had always wanted to be on the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and now that he had the chance, the mere thought of messing up and not making it to the team tormented him.
His friends watched as Ron remained silent and clutched his glass of pumpkin juice, still untouched.
"You'll do fine, Ron, don't worry," Harry tried to reassure him. Ron nodded, but his gaze remained fixed on Y/n.
Throughout all those years, the person who gave Ron the most confidence was Y/n. He always felt that if she was by his side, everything would be alright. So seeing the gentle, confident look she gave him reassured him.
"You'll be in the stands, right?" Ron's question was directed at his two friends, but his focus was entirely on Y/n. She joked, "Not if it rains," to lighten the mood.
That seemed to improve things. Ron calmed down and Hermione was able to go back to reading her book, while Harry and Y/n discussed the Transfiguration class they had attended the day before and the homework Professor McGonagall had given them.
----------------------------------------------
The tryouts for the Quidditch team were after lunch. Y/n and Hermione were sitting in the stands talking about Potions class and how unbearable Harry was becoming because of that old book he was using in class.
They were practically alone on those bleachers until Lavender's unpleasant voice interrupted the conversation between the two girls. Y/n closed her eyes tightly in irritation, wishing with all her heart that Lavender wouldn't sit near her. Y/n's wish did not seem to come true when she felt Lavender's long, curly braids touch her shoulder. The girl had sat down next to her. Her eyes were wide open, her head was bowed, and she seemed to be pouting, as if she were about to cry at any moment.
Y/n looked at her and tried with all her might to form a fake smile. "Hello, Lavender." Y/n's tone had become higher pitched. She already had two sickles in her hand, ready to throw at Ginny if Lavender predicted her death again.
"Hello, Y/n. I went to Divination today and, as you may have noticed, I was late for Potions because I stayed behind to talk to Professor Trelawney." Lavender didn't seem likely to drop that pitying expression anytime soon. Y/n was making a superhuman effort to keep smiling and resist the urge to pull her pigtails.
"No, I hadn't realised, Lavender." The words came out like poison from Y/n's mouth.
"Well, the teacher told me something about you." Hermione, who was watching Harry talk to all the Gryffindor students who had shown up that afternoon to try out for the team, turned to listen to what Lavender was going to say. "You see, the teacher told me that in a few weeks you would lose the love of your life. It's sad, yes. Try to spend the time you have left with Lee. I'm terribly sorry." Then Lavender, after saying goodbye with a pitiful smile, got up and sat two rows below.
Y/n looked at Hermione. There was no longer a smile on her face, and she seemed to feel nothing but pure rage. Hermione couldn't believe what Lavender had said and understood perfectly why her friend was so angry at that moment.
"Don't listen to her, nothing's going to happen to Lee." Hermione tried to reassure Y/n.
She already knew that nothing was going to happen to her boyfriend, but she wanted to know, now more than ever, what exactly Lavender had against her.
-----------------------------------------
Two weeks had passed since the day Lavender had told Y/n about the prophecy. It was half past ten at night. Y/n was in bed sorting through all the letters Lee had sent her during the school year so far. All the envelopes were sealed; she hadn't read any of the letters. Lavender and Parvati entered the room and saw Y/n putting a stack of letters into a wooden box.
"Are they from Lee?" Parvati asked, batting her eyelashes innocently.
Y/n stopped putting the letters in the box, but did not look up at the two girls. "Yes." she replied sharply.
"You haven't read them." It sounded more like a statement than a question.
Y/n replied curtly again, this time looking at them. "I know."
Lavender sat down on her bed, right in front of Y/n's, and began combing her braids. "You should read them. According to Professor Trelawney, the prophecy will come true tomorrow. You'll want to say goodbye to him."
Y/n put away the remaining letters and closed the box harder than she meant to. She left it on the bed and left the room without looking at either of the girls.
Meanwhile, in the common room, Ron was sitting in one corner of the sofa. Hermione was next to him, in the other corner. And Harry was sitting on the floor next to the fireplace.
"I don't understand why she's still with him," said Ron, rubbing his face with his hands. "She doesn't read any of his letters. She just complains about him, about how controlling and possessive he is, and yet she's still with him."
Hermione and Harry were used to Ron's complaints. They also understood that, for their friend, seeing the girl he had been in love with for years leave with someone else, and on top of that, have a horrible relationship, could be frustrating.
"Make her jealous." Hermione sat up immediately when she heard what Harry had said.
"No, Ron, that's a terrible idea." She put the book aside and pointed her finger at her friend. Hermione's gaze was defiant and harsh. She knew that plan would not end well, but Ron looked at Harry convinced that his friend had said the best thing he had ever heard in his life. "You can't be serious." Hermione challenged him again. Ron ignored her, just looking at Harry with a smile.
---------------------------------
The next morning dawned cloudy and cold. The Quidditch match would be after lunch, and Ron didn't seem very confident about winning.
"Ron." Y/n got his attention. Her voice was soft and warm. Ron looked at her. "You'll do fine, don't worry. Trust yourself."
Ron wanted to trust Y/n. He wanted to trust what she said, but his nerves were eating away at him.
Harry, seeing no other possible solution, poured a few drops of his Felix Felicis into Ron's juice. Ron drank it in one gulp and left the Great Hall radiating confidence. Hermione and Y/n looked at Harry, unable to believe what he had just done. Hermione rolled her eyes, dismissing it. Y/n continued to stare at Harry accusingly. Harry shrugged and got up from the table, then left the Great Hall as well.
"Have you spoken to Lee yet?" Hermione asked her friend.
"No. He's not going to die. You know Lavender's prophecies don't make any sense. Otherwise, I'd be dead by now."
Y/n finished her meal and, together with Hermione, went to the Quidditch pitch to watch the match.
The match was entertaining. Gryffindor versus Slytherin. Gryffindor was winning. Harry kept searching for the Snitch while Ron blocked all the shots from the opposing team, preventing them from scoring points. Strangely, Lavender's unbearable voice pierced Y/n's ears every time Ron hit the Quaffle. Lavender screamed and jumped around as if she were Ron's personal cheerleader, and that annoyed Y/n more than anything.
In the end, Gryffindor won, and they decided to celebrate in the common room. Y/n was looking for Ron to talk to him when she saw Dean Thomas drag him to the centre of the room and lift him onto a table. Ron had never felt this way before. Joy flooded his whole body. He couldn't stop smiling. Nor could he stop thinking about Y/n. He wanted to hug her and celebrate the victory with her. Then he saw her making her way through the crowd, a glass in her right hand and another sealed letter in her left.
Lee.
Again.
One more card.
Then Ron saw Harry, who was standing next to Hermione, and remembered what he had said to him the night before.
Make her jealous.
Lavender jumped onto the table where Ron was sitting. The last thing he saw was Y/n looking for Harry and Hermione in the crowd. She wasn't looking at him, and for that second, he remembered Hermione's reprimand in the common room the night before.
It's a horrible idea.
When Y/n reached her friends, she noticed their expressions of astonishment. Hermione had dropped her glass on the floor and Harry's mouth was hanging open. Y/n turned around and immediately regretted doing so.
Ron and Lavender were kissing. Ron, her best friend and the boy she had been in love with since first year, and Lavender, the girl who seemed to wish her dead more than anything else in the world. They were kissing, in the middle of the common room, while everyone stared at them.
Y/n crumpled the letter with the force with which she had clenched her hands in rage. Tears welled up in her eyes and her lip began to tremble.
Lavender's prophecy was true. Y/n had lost the love of her life. Lee hadn't died, no. She had lost Ron. Ron had chosen Lavender over her.
Ron was the love of her life.
Y/n squeezed her eyes shut to make the small tears that had formed disappear and turned to look at her friends.
"Y/n, are you—"
"I'm going outside for a moment," Y/n interrupted Hermione. She tried to force a smile and left the common room.
When Ron finally looked at his friends, he saw Y/n leaving and Harry and Hermione looking at him with disappointment. Ron climbed down from the table and walked towards them, confused.
"Where is she going—"
Harry was about to speak, but Hermione was quicker. She pushed Ron and shouted at him. "I told you Harry's plan was terrible. You shouldn't have done it. Especially not with Lavender. You know better than anyone what she's been saying to Y/n for the last four years." Hermione was furious. Ron looked at Harry for support, but his friend was on Hermione's side.
Ron snorted and left. He started pushing his way through the crowd to get out of the common room.
He was an idiot.
He should have listened to Hermione.
Lavender had thrown herself at him and he hadn't thought about the consequences.
Ron started running through the castle looking for Y/n. He reached one of the gardens. Raindrops began to fall, wetting his hair and shoulders. Then he saw her. She was sitting on one of the arches in the walls, hugging herself, crying. Ron's heart sank. If he already felt stupid, now he thought he was the most pathetic person in the world for making the most important person in his life cry.
"You haven't lost me." Y/n lifted her head and looked at Ron, who was standing in the middle of the garden with his hair completely wet. "If you feel the same way about me as I feel about you, then you haven't lost me." Ron knew about Lavender's prophecy and risked everything to interpret it that way. Maybe Y/n had read the letter. Maybe that letter wasn't from Lee. Maybe it was telling her about her boyfriend's death. Maybe Ron wasn't the love of her life, maybe Lee was.
But deep down, Ron was sure that wasn't the case. Something told him that he was the right person and that he couldn't lose Y/n to Lavender, and she couldn't lose him either.
Y/n remained silent but kept staring at him. A cold and distant stare. She didn't make any effort to get up either.
"Sorry." Ron took a step forward. "Sorry. I realised it straight away. I don't know what I was thinking. I'm stupid." Ron moved slowly and carefully towards Y/n.
"With Lavender." She finally spoke. Her voice was hoarse and weak, but full of rage.
"I know. I don't know what I was thinking—"
Y/n stood up suddenly, furious, and approached Ron. "With Lavender, Ronald Weasley!" Y/n's scream echoed off the walls surrounding the garden. "Why her? It could have been anyone else. I didn't care. But why Lavender?"
"She threw herself at me, I—" Ron paused and took a breath. Looking Y/n in the eyes. The words wouldn't come out. "Fuck! I talked to Harry yesterday and he told me I had to make you jealous. Hermione warned me it wasn't a good idea. I didn't listen to her."
"Make me jealous?2 Y/n was confused and furious.
"So you'd break up with Lee and finally realise that I'm the one who's madly in love with you." Ron's cry pierced her chest. "Why are you still with him? You can't stand him. You haven't read any of his letters, and you haven't made any effort to go see him. Do you really love him?"
Y/n remained silent. The two stared intently into each other's eyes. Then Y/n shook her head. Her tears mingled with the rain.
"Then why are you still with him?" Ron's question revealed his desperation.
"Because I thought I would never be able to be with you."
She said it.
Almost like a whisper and with fear, but she said it.
The rain was now falling harder. Y/n started laughing out of nowhere. Ron, infected by Y/n's laughter, laughed too.
"We're two idiots." Ron nodded, still laughing. "Two idiots in the rain, like in a film." Y/n looked at Ron with a sincere smile.
"Leave him." She looked at him. He was sure of what he had said. "Leave him. You don't want to be with him."
Then Y/n, in response to what he had said, grabbed Ron by the collar of his shirt and kissed him. He hugged Y/n around the waist and pulled her close to him.
That kiss was different from his kiss with Lavender. Lavender's had been forced and awkward. With Y/n, it was real. They kissed as if they had kissed before. It wasn't forced; it conveyed love.
It was as if a comforting warmth ran through his whole body. As if at any moment they could start flying.
"You're the love of my life," Ron said once they separated.
"For a moment I thought Lavender's prophecy had come true, that I had lost you," Y/n joked. Ron smiled and shook his head.
"Lavender's prophecies are rubbish."

Ron Weasley x fem!reader
Friends to lovers
Summary: You and Ron have been best friends since first year. Unbeknownst to you, you had started developing feelings for him but he starts dating Lavender Brown. Everything changes one summer night at the burrow.
(Happy ending ofc <3)
Word count: 2k
Requests are open 💌
Sunlight reflected off his scarlet quidditch robes, making his red hair appear redder. You ran up to Ron to congratulate him, and the rest of gryffindor, on their victory.
“Well played weasley.” You smirked as Ron pulled you into a hug.
“Couldn’t have done it without your support from the benches” he joked
Pulling away from him, you noticed a curly dusty blonde haired girl eager to make her way towards Ron.
“Congratulations Won won!” She giggled and pulled Ron into a deep kiss.
What the hell? Who is this freak? Does she congratulate every guy by kissing them? You thought to yourself.
“I’ll see you in the common room later.” She winked at Ron as she walked away.
“Who the hell was that?” You asked
“Oh, that was Lavender. Lavender Brown. We started seeing each-other last month. She’s a bit…. strong spirited…. If thats the right way to put it.” He explained.
“Last month!!?? And you didn’t even have the courtesy to tell me? Only been your best friend for six bloody years and you don’t tell me you’ve got yourself a girlfriend? Piss off Ronald.” You shouted as you walked away.
“Y/n wait-“ You heard Ron call but you didn’t care.
How dare he? You always shared everything with him. Every single detail of your life, and he did the same. Well, up until now. You didn’t understand why it was bothering you so much; the mere thought of Ron and Lavender together made your blood boil. It must have been because he kept you in the dark about it for so long.
“Y/n… are you alright?” Hermione whispered.
You were sitting on the floor of the gryffindor common room, in-front of the fireplace, finishing your History of Magic homework.
“So I’m guessing you heard about my little outburst on the quidditch field this morning?” You asked
“Half of the school heard it” She quipped.
“Wow. Thanks. That made me feel so much better.” You said with a blank expression.
It has been three weeks since you found out about Lavender and Ron. He tried ‘explaining himself’ to you on numerous occasions, but each time you came up with a pathetic excuse to avoid him. He didn’t have to explain who he was dating or why he was dating them to you. That would be weird. Why should he be obligated to consult you about his love life? You’re over reacting, thats all - you tried telling yourself every night. It didn’t bother you, honestly why should it even bother you?
“Y/n! Please stop this madness. It’s been three weeks… I miss my friend.” Ron pleaded. He had you cornered near a wall in the corridors, you couldn’t escape him now.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about Lavender immediately. Honestly… I didn’t see it lasting long anyway , so I didn’t bother telling you. And to be frank, I didn’t think you’d like her… guess I got that part right.” Ron explained as he scratched the back of his neck.
“No. Don’t be sorry. I’m sorry Ron. I’m sorry for acting so childish.” You apologised
Ron pulled you into a tight hug and smiled.
“Soooo… tell me about her. Is she a good kisser?” You teased
“Oh shut it” Ron play punched you in the shoulder.
“What!? Every time i’ve seen you guys together , you’ve been snogging!” You said laughing.
And just like that, everything felt normal again.
Exams had just come to an end, and you couldn’t be happier. Summer at the burrow with the weasley family awaited you. Every summer since your second year at hogwarts, Ron invited you, Hermione and Harry to the burrow to spend a few weeks there. Even when Harry and Hermione failed to go, you never missed the opportunity to spend time with the weasleys. They were the closest thing you had to family. Molly was like the mother you never had and Ginny was like a sister you adored. Ron… Ron was just your Ron. He was your favourite person in the entire world. You were hoping that wouldn’t change since he started dating Lavender.
“Did you tell Mrs. Weasley that all three of us are coming this summer?” You asked Ron. You, Harry , Hermione and Ron were sitting in the same compartment in the train whilst stuffing your faces with sweets from the trolly.
“Oh yea , i’ve told mum. She’s trilled. I even overheard Fred and George planning what tricks to play on us once we get there” Ron said.
“Did you tell her, Ron?” Harry whispered into Ron’s ear.
“Tell me what?” You asked nervously.
“Oh erm… Lavender is going to join us at the burrow this summer.” Ron mumbled stuffing his face with more sweets.
“Ron stop eating for a second. Your mouth is so full; I don’t think I heard you right…. For a second I thought you said Lavender is joining us this summer.” You said.
“Oh you heard him right.” Hermione said as she rolled her eyes.
Was he being serious right now? This was a thing the friend group shared. Why the hell did he have to ruin it by inviting his annoying little girlfriend. And just on cue, Lavender appeared outside the compartment, blowing her breath on the glass as she drew a heart and wrote ‘Lavender + Ron’ in it.
“I think I’m going to be sick” you said.
The days at the burrow passed by excruciatingly slow. You barely spoke to Ron. Lavender was every where. Even Mrs. Weasley seemed to have had enough of her. Fred and George tried to cheer you up on multiple occasions by playing tricks on Ron and Lavender every time you caught them snogging.
“Y/n , don’t be like this. Please. “ Hermione pressed.
“What do you mean? I’m not being like… anything.” You countered.
“ It’s so obvious you hate seeing Ron and Lavender together, in fact it’s obvious you hate seeing Ron with anyone that isn’t you.” Harry added
“I literally have no idea what you’re talking about.” You said as you burst out the living room.
That night, Lavender announced that she will be cooking dinner for everyone, since she wanted to do something special for her ‘Won Won’.
Everyone waited eagerly at the table , wondering what dish Lavender would be serving. You hated to admit it , but the smell coming from the kitchen was mouth watering. Your stomach made a rumbling noise as you glanced at Ron.
He was seated right across you, with Harry beside him. Hermione sat on your left and Ginny on your right. Everyone else were in their usual spots as Lavender finally bought out the food.
“Tada! I present to you , a recipe passed down for generations in my family , Cauliflower Casserole!” Lavender squeaked as she begin serving the dish to everyone.
“Double serving for you , because I know your gonna love it , my Won Won.” Lavender continued.
“Is she mental? Is she absolutely stupid? How has she been dating Ron for three months, and yet she doesn’t even know the fact that he despises cauliflower!?” You whisper shouted to Ginny and Hermione.
“Eat up Won Won.” Lavender hovered over Ron until he put a spoon full of casserole in his mouth.
“Mmm. It’s delicious.” Ron lied, turning a shade of green, as he continued eating.
“Ron you don’t have to-“ you were saying as Hermione cut you off.
“Don’t y/n. It’s not worth it.” She said.
Everyone else seemed to be enjoying their meal, even you, as the food was actually quite delicious. But, Ron barely touched his food which was extremely rare for him.
After dinner, you played a round of wizards chess with mrs. Weasley, Hermione and Ginny, and then went to bed.
You awoke at 2 am, parched and in desperate need of water. As you made your way down to the kitchen, you saw a figure standing above the stove. It was Ron.
“Hey… what are you doing up so late?” You asked.
“Blimey y/n. You scared me.” He jumped.
“Are you making food at this ungodly hour, Ronald Weasley?” You asked.
“Yea… I’m still kinda hungry.”
“Figured. Cauliflower casserole. Pft. Three months and it’s like she knows nothing about you.” you mumbled, mostly to yourself.
“I know you hate her.” Ron said
“Move over.” You ignored him as he handed you the pan. You cracked an egg and begin frying some bacon. Ron sat on the table, his mouth watering at the smell.
You placed the food on a plate and grabbed two forks. Ron practically attacked the food, making you laugh.
“Do you love her?” You asked
“Love!? Love who? Lavender? God no.” He seemed offended you even asked such a question.
“Then why are you with her , Ron?”
“I- Because I can’t be with the one person I want to be with.” He spat
“What are you taking about?” You asked, confused.
“It’s impractical. She’s like my bestest friend in the whole world. It would be nonsensical for me to confess to her. She probably doesn’t even feel the same way.” He explained.
“Are you talking about Hermione?” You asked baffled.
“Merlins sake y/n…. I’m talking about you!” He practically shouted.
“Me?” You said, your voice barely a whisper.
Both of you were standing now. Your heart was racing faster than your brain. Ron wants to be with me? How is that possible. You thought to yourself. He treated you like one of his brothers, playing rough all the time, he never even treated you like a proper girl. You would have never figured he had feelings for you.
“What are you saying, Ron?” You questioned.
“I’m saying- I’m saying that I’m bloody in love with you, y/n! I have been… for a very, very long time.” He said.
You walked closer to him, your faces only a few inches apart.
“You fool, why didn’t you tell me sooner?” You asked as you placed your hand on his cheek.
“I didn’t think you would return my feelings, and quite frankly I didn’t want to ruin our friendship.” He explained.
“Idiot” you murmured as you pulled Ron in for a kiss. He kissed back like it was the only thing he had been wanting to do all summer.
After a minute, you pulled away.
“What are we going to do about Lavender?” You asked
“I’ll sort it out first thing tomorrow. But for now….” Ron pulled you in as you smiled against his chest.
All was well. Ronald weasley was finally yours.
